BIG BARRY CONLON,yes folks, shades of lazyness from Paul Hayes, thinks hes flashy rolling his foot on the ball before he crosses it but not a lot of fight in his play, yes its early days,we all want to think their marvellous but you can only comment on what you see with your own eyes,Hayes did look a little bit lazy last night.

Big Baz was everybody's favourite last year....

    before he got injured.
His work rate, first touch and layoffs were quite sublime at times but when he got injured people turned against him for some reason. Probably cos of Chops.
I really do hope Baz picks up the pieces and continues where he left off.

His getting injured did not turn me against him

its the fact that although he's an honest player...he's not good enough to fire us to promotion...

You are spot on David, baffling to say the least, same applies to Boulding to a certain extent, why doesnt Hart play Boulding? he was everybodys favourite at one time then nobody likes him.

7 goals from 19 games is not a bad return for a target man,is it because he came from Darlington?

    No...

nowt to do with where he came from...its more that he's about as dangerous IN THE BOX as an butter knife in a attempted stabbing

7 goals in 19 games doesnt suggest that.

    How many were penalties?

Sorry, I just do not rate him. He's an honest player and I respect him for that, but I think he does too much work outside the box.

    Nardiello will score more goals

Big Baz could be the Dion Dublin of the future, emergency centre back.

Be miles better as a Centre Half...

    IMHO

That's when his good points would really become great points

    Hayes looked okay to me.

Can you really judge in a friendly? Nardi and Shukes looked good too imho.

    RE: REDSTAR

If my initial opinion about a player is wrong I will admit it. Usually it is proved NOT to be wrong. Take Paul Gibbs for instance. Complete and utter toss

I like Conlon as a player. He's honest and works hard and is capable of good play like the goal at Bournemouth. Sadly, he is not capable of delivering consistently enough to make him the player to take us up. That's why I question his selection. A lot of the time last season he played too deeply and maybe that was down to the manager of the day playing him incorrectly, but for me that always showed up his lack of pace. A srtiker should do most of their work in and around the box NOT in the centre circle.

As for games next season, probably 20-30, just like last season. I've not been to any friendlies so far this season and therefore am currently basing my posts about BC and every other player on their form last season. Many Players have something to prove, and at the start of the season I will be hoping that many of them prove that last season was not the norm.

You do not know me if you know who I am or not. I have nothing to prove to you about supporting Barnsley. Going to away matches does not make you a greater fan...it makes you a more fortunate one
