Bobby Hassell should have been man of the match last night, should be there or there abouts for player of the year and should definitely be handed a new 3 year deal before we have another messy Shuker-gate episode on our hands!

    The lad is pure class!!!

That's your opinion. Two shots by the 'midfielder' one 15 feet over the bar, the other nearly hits the corner flag. Overweighted passes to the forwards etc.

Not bad for a right back continuously playing out of position! Give him a new deal I say as soon as....

    He played well.

Moore, Souza & Colace played better though.

    not sure about last night...

... as Moore and Colace had very good games but i agree with your sentiments. he should be the second name on the team sheet only after Fozzie.

the crowd pleaser (and don't get me wrong - I like JCR) hasn't really done owt since November (continually played out of position etc) will win player of the year but my vote will be going to Bobby.

RE: not sure about last night...

I agree Moore & Colace were brilliant but out of position, who else in the squad could have filled in to such good effect other than the Ginger Warrior? Thought the whole team were great last night except Van Clubfoot & Muller because of his distribution. Lots of positives and a point gained in my view. The big one is Saturday!!

On another note, does anyone not think that the best team to come to Oakwell this year were Cardiff. The rest have been nothing special especially them last night!

Was i watching the same game as everyone else...

Colace had the worst game he's had for us last night, he was rubbish. When he got the ball he hofed it in the air towards Mifsud. He backed out of every challenge and was 2 seconds off the pace, and didn't look interested most of the time. Agree he's been one of the best players for us this season, but he was shocking last night. Hassell didn't have a bad game, but would have been better in his own position. Darren Moore had a good game though,i agree there.

colace, 2 seconds off the pace, mmmmmmmmmmmmmm it wasnt him that chased about 40 yards back in the second half then at a speed of knots when one of their blokes left a defender (moore, i believe) for dead, and made a great tackle in the box????????? OFF THE PACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! watch the match!

    I agree Archey

I am a big Colace fan and believe him to be one of the better players but last night he was way off the pace. He didn't defend well and his distribution was woeful. Hopefully just an off day and Saturday he will be back to his best

Finally, someone who agrees with me...

not used to it like :D I hope it was just an off day too, but he certainly wasn't the man of the match last night, not by a long way.

A Birmingham fans view of us

took the inlaws to the game, Brum fans, and they said that we seem to have a decent defence and keeper, but our only decent forward player was JCR, actual words "good enough to get in any Championship side we've seen". I pointed out that I thought he'd had a quiet game, but their 'impartial' opinion was that he was as dangerous a player as they'd faced all season.

Expect him to be gone in the summer after collecting the POTS award, as is our tradition.

Thought he was awful last night

wandering off as usual (presumably on davey's instruction) leaving us with no players on one side of the pitch as is the usual practice. Looked selfish when he had the ball too and lazy when he didnt have it

just goes to show how opinions and viewpoints can vary. I dont think he was at his best, flattered to deceive mostly, but an opposition fan looks at us differently, and they said that he caused them problems and looked like our most dangerous player, so fair dos.

I dont think he has played all that well since before Xmas

had a couple of decent spells in matches but never being dynamic enough for full matches.

RE: I dont think he has played all that well since before Xmas

dont think he's won games single handed (winning goal at Hillsboro) but I think his level of performance and contribution is still above most in our side, and when he gets the ball, hes still the one that gets people out of their seat in expectation. Bearing in mind most teams have now identified him as our main threat, and he's double marked quite often. I'd like to see Hammill given a chance, maybe take some of the pressure off JCR, and maybe let him find where he's most effective for us, wing or centre.
