Just seen a nice picture of him with David Watson. He'll be tying up the loose ends on a number of contracts I shouldn't wonder.

Or sounding out potential signings, working on the coming season at Oakwell and/or utilising his many contacts in the game for the benefit of Barnsley Football Club.

I still don't understand what he does.

He is a paid employee of BFC?

I don't believe he is paid, no. His "contacts within the game" are supposed to help the club. I have no idea if they do or they don't.

    How was Wembley btw?

So we've got Mr Cryne laid up ill and working through his court case and Don manning the ship alone while Mr Taylor wines and dines fowk at the FA so we can sign laikers at Rochdale and get an U21 game every 5 years? Sounds fair enough.

It was good, ta. Stanmore perfect. And the bloke in front of me went and bought a large 7Up and a pizza with rocket salad at half time. And those next to us were throwing paper planes and eating minstrels.

    I had a Percy Turner's pork pie.

I just hope he has a good time. He deserves it after all the great work he does for the club.

******* hell, Invisible man's at Euro's trying to get into Sepp Blatter's "sauna" party, this sites gunna buckle.

A bit like Alan Blooere swanning it up with his free "supporters" club tickets with the Wednesday band, whilst we had to get connecting flights and pay through the nose for tickets, oh aye.

    Missed that. Cheers.

At the end of the day, if he's not taking a wage and representing the club at some level like the FA then fair enough. But I'd be interested to see what benefits him being a Director actually brings us.

Proud as punch for Watson, though.

Dave Watson's done very well for himself.

What tangible benefit to BFC get having Taylor on board ? Anyone saying 'loan players' will be drenched in their own ****. Other clubs without FA luminaries get better loan players than us.

I agree. But on the flip side, what harm does it do? He doesn't take a wage, probably a couple of pies at a home game and a free ticket.

It doesn't do any harm but surely the point of a director is to have a positive impact on the club??

But my point is we don't know he's not. Better to have a Director of our club at the FA Board level than not, surely?

If he was being paid I might think a bit different. I don't know his history with us, either.

    That.

I'd ponce about and do no harm. The club's on its arse financially and 50% of the boardroom is nowhere to be seen.

As you say it doesn't do harm but I'm struggling to identify any benefits. I know we have had under 21 games in the past but far smaller clubs with smaller grounds have had that so I don't think it was down to him.

Isn't he the president/life president at the club too?

Hail Baz & his BFC club tie.

Pardon my naivity if the answer is obvious but I don't know it!

Is Taylor wealthy and actually putting some money into the club? That's the sort of 'Director' I'd expect at a private company to be honest or am I being optimistic??
