    Southampton 1.02 points per game. 10 games left. Would finish on 47 points;

    Barnsley 1.14 points per game. 12 games left, would finish on 53 points;

    Nottingham Forest 1.10 points per game. 9 games left. Would finish on 51 points (rounding up the decimal);

    Blackpool 1.13 points per game. 9 games left. Would finish on 52 points (inferior goal difference);

    This is working on the basis that Charlton and Norwich drop as they stand, bottom and second bottom.

    Southampton go next, then forest survive, blackpool survive one better, and then we go one better than that.

    It's not something that I'm particularly happy to look at, but it makes me think two things:

    1) we're probably going to be alright.
    2) 50 points may well be enough this season.

    I know that this is very very basic, and I'm not taking into account who is playing who... but chuff it... I'm off to do the predictor now.

    Just done the predictor...

    and I have us finishing in 16th place on 53 points.

    48 points has nottingham forest safe, with blackpool dropping into the bottom three on 47.

    What the chuff do I know? (shakrhead)

    I did the predictor as negatively as I felt I could...

    I had us beat Blackpool & Forest at Oakwell, take 0 points at all away from home, and a draw against Palace.

    I had us go down on the last day at Plymouth.

    So if we can find a win somewhere else, I think we'll be okay. Forest seem to have a tough run-in.

    But the fact is, the whole league is so unpredictable at this stage that its just all about how we turn up for each game - we can beat nearly anyone, but we can also lose to anyone.

    If games go as expected we should be OK

    Forest v Southampton on the last day deciding who goes down with Charlton and Norwich

    But games recently have been anything but predicatable

    I have us on 52 points which I think will be enough but its not comfortable and lose a game I have us winning and we are in deep trouble

    This 'predictor' makes me laugh

    We have people posting their 'bets of the day' each Saturday and Tues/Weds and hardly any of them come anywhere near in.

    If you can't predict Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea scores, how on earth can even attempt predicting ours I don't know.

    Knowing us we'll beat Birmingham and lose to Blackpool.

    I had Reading as Champions with Wolves second.
    Burnley Cardiff Sheff Untd and Birmingham to play orf.
    Relegated were
    Charlton on 35
    Norwich on 37

    Indeed

    Reading losing at home to Forest and Wolves at home to Plymouth...

    Just proves it.

    And we drew 0-0 with bottom of league and then beat the second richest team in the world the week after.

    Anywhere else in the world that would be a bench. In Barnsley ; it's a form.
