Amine Bassi got a hat trick of assists in Houston Dynamos match last night to set up a final with Inter Miami in September. 9 goals in 20 games as well, seems to having a good time out there. Houston Dynamo outlast Real Salt Lake: Next stop, Open Cup final! | MLSSoccer.com
Not a lot of people realise that the MLS has a maximum height and weight for all players. They can be no taller than 5 foot 5 and can weigh no more than 6 stone wet through.
Bassi and the other two loans were the only bright spots in an otherwise miserable season. The pity was that we weren’t in a position to sign them up full time
He's doing very well out there. I don't want to be that guy, but I think 6 of his 9 league goals have been penalties. I know, they all count, but they seem to get a lot of penalties, and he's their regular penalty taker.
I think you only have to ask the England lads and especially Harry kane who hard penalties are! Pressures a little different i suppose
Is it like the U23s though, where you're allowed so many older players, or in this case bigger players. I just wondered if Dike lied on his application form.
Its the American school/college sporting system. All boys are assigned to a sport at 11. Fast -> Athletics, short->soccer, tall->basketball, brick *********->Football, weirdo->lacrosse, Mullet->Hockey. The rest are assigned to the freaks and geeks and have to work out how to spend the next 7 years avoiding the bullies...
I liked Bassi when he was here, albeit briefly. Him and Quina offered some attacking intent in an otherwise awful season. Sounds like he’s probably living a good life right now so good luck to him.
One bright spot on an atrocious season. Looking back though we could have done with all our strikers fit at the same time. Collins and Woodrow didn't play together at the beginning and at the end. Losing that experience didn't help either in Sollbauer and Sibbick was harshly cast aside in spite of being one of the better performers. I still think a capable Head Coach could have done something with the team we had though.
To be fair, they may have been a highlight in a dismal season but the decision to parade two players we wouldn't be signing, around the perimeter of the pitch wielding bunches of chuffing flowers, was definitely a lowlight. Of the season, if not all time.
