That was some performance today. I've watched a lot of footy over the years and I can safely say that the performances of Messrs Steele, Wiseman and Cranie in particular are now lodged in my memory as top 5 defensive performances by a BFC defence. We did get battered but like flicker says , we earned the point. Their crowd were so up for it but within 20 mins we completely silenced them. A superbly planned and executed defensive display. Every player put in a shift today and they deserve more praise for the way they fought for our shirt. This league is still wide open and we can live safe in the knowledge that we have the best person in charge to re-energise and re-motivate this great bunch of lads. Proud of them tonight and proud and privileged to be a Barnsley fan.
Totally agree with those sentiments. The fact that we are still in with a chance of retaining our Championship status at this stage of the season is a massive achievement by all concerned at the club considering the plight we were in at the turn of the year. Even if we do succumb to the realms of div1football it will be the first relegation ( tbf we havn't had many as a club )where I feel confident that we are in good hands. But that's another story as this team haven't done with the championship yet and are capable along with a determination to battle our way out of this and deserve a good sized and vocal crowd on Saturday to show our appreciation and I'm sure we won't let them down.COYR
Totally agree -- best post of the day. Had it not been for Flitcroft we would have been fkd weeks ago.
That's true, too. This thread just gets better. On any other Saturday that would be a great point. If it's not enough, there is no shame in going down fighting as they have. I'm proud of them and they should be too.
Clueless how the season will end but the commitment is total and worthy of the best traditions of the club even when playing in borrowed shirts.
