Conlon, 27, was loaned to Rotherham by the Tykes in October, but has not played first-team football since then.

"Big Baz is contracted to Barnsley, and I have not spoken to him at all," Hodgson told Darlington's website.

"I don't know if he is out of contract, and I don't know if he has recovered from his knee injury."

Conlon scored 42 league and cup goals in 125 appearances for Darlington between 2001 and 2004, before joining Barnsley on a free transfer.

So he knows he has a knee injury....

So I take it that he HAS looked into bringing him back, then.

Well, as Bazza's contract runs out this summer, he would be allowed to talk to any club January onwards, so I don't know why Hodgson has to be so coy about it all.

He'll not get £1200 a week though up there, so he'll have to drop his demands.....
