I must be one of the few of my age that actually thought Bowie was rubbish, never ever got why he was supposedly brilliant? Not my cuppa at all.
All down to personal preference I guess - To me the Ziggy Stardust and Alladin Sane albums were 70's classics and Bowies best 2 albums some like you didnt like him at all. l
Add the man who sold the world and thats his best 3 albums for me, a lot of fans prfer Hunky Dory, good in parts but not brilliant overall IMHO
Ziggy Stardust is one of the best albums of all time IMHO. Aladdin Sane and Hunky Dory are up there too, both great albums. Also Diamond Dogs, another quality album.
bowie was an icon and a legend he changed the whole face of british music and if it wasn,t for him there would have been no glam rock including bolan and such stars, wether you like his music or not theres no escaping that fact the most important artist in british music history.
No he is not, I reckon Gazza singing Fog on the Tyne is the defining moment in British musical history!!
