Got up, put news on TV( same as every morning) and apparently there is nothing happening except the American elections. I get it’s important and will have an effect on us, but to dedicate the program to it is just wrong.
Their news site has been dedicated to it since yesterday too. About 12 hours before the first results were due in they changed the front page to a vote tracker.
Anything/ everything that is relevant to me, so yes that includes both those subjects if there’s something relevant to report.
The thing is, both BBC and ITV seem to believe that the UK public is slightly interested in what goes on in the USA. I actually think that we've got away with it very lightly this time as in previous years they've made us suffer on a daily basis for about a year in advance. We are "fortunate" to have had other more important things to concern us. I always ask myself the question, how many months/weeks before a UK election do American tv companies ram it down their throats that there is an election going on in some distant lil' ole country that some of those folks will probably never even heard of. It may get a mention the day after. We suck up to the Yanks far too much in my opinion.
The BBC have just asked Nigel Farage his opinion on the US election. Why the hell does the media give this gimp airtime?
They had Rabb on today, instead of taking the opportunity of having a senior Tory MP to quiz him over things in UK, all they tried to do was draw him into giving his opinion on Trumps speech.
Imagine if they did the same for democratic nations near us that we've had even closer trading relationships with. There would be absolute meltdown from some obvious quarters.

They asked the Foreign Secretary his opinion on a major political event involving our foremost international ally of the last 100 years? Madness.
Except they didn’t, they asked him his opinion on Trump making claims, two different things but hey don’t let the facts get in the way.
If the leader of say Lithuania or The Ukraine had said what Trump said about not counting any more votes, Raab would have been spouting utter condemnation and accusing them of being undemocratic. But hey we need a trade deal with the US so we can all have lovely Chlorine washed chicken....
