I've never understood why they show it live every year. They do exactly the same tunes - why not just pick a good one and show it every year - no one would know and it would save money. Also they would know exactly how long it was going to be.
I don't even know what the hell it is, put it on for about five seconds and I'd seen enough. Your description sounds pretty accurate though.
