BBC Sport verdict: Andy Ritchie's appointment produced an upturn in fortunes for the Tykes and gives them hope of an improved campaign this time around. Keeping Chris Shuker over the summer was a big boost and a talented squad should be expected to fare better than 13th. Key man: Chris Shuker
oh and also they have 6 young players to watch in league 1 who are; Kris Commons- Notts Forest Freddie Eastwood- Southend Izale McLeod- MK Dons David Mirfin- Huddersfield Luke Oliver- Yeovil Keigan Parker- Blackpool I'm surprised that Scott Flinders and Matt Fryatt aren't included. Especially as Luke Oliver is in there because he won player of the year with Woking last season! I agree with Commons, Eastwood and Parker though.
News of the World predicted 15th for us also predicted 1 Tranmere 2 Brentford 22 Oldham ????? I think they will be right up there this year
RE: oh and also I'm glad they aren't watching Scott as it may mean that other teams would be interested when they realised how good he is. (angel)
Scott Flinders The Sunday Times had Scott Flinders as one of their promising young players to watch out for. Lets hope other clubs keep their sticky mitts off, or offer us some ridiculously massive fee. Not 25k plus a set of bibs, like most offers that are floating round nowadays.
£1m would buy a lot of improvement at this level But leave us short of a decent keeper, maybe we'd get Ross in on loan? Hope it's not true anyway.
Laughable that someone gets paid to do that I read something similar and that our "star player" was McPhail. They went on to list Gillinghams as Tom Williams. These people must do absolutely no research into the teams in the lower divisions. Almost as annoying as the sun calling liverpool "the kop" and match reports no longer having much to do with the actual match.
RE: Laughable that someone gets paid to do that The Times has Yeovil down for 2nd and Milton Keynes Dons to Finish bottom. Now much as I hate MKD, I think that only a nob with no idea would have them down for a wooden spoon this year. They have a squad that is measurably better than a number of others, and a good experienced manager (like him or not). I think it goes to prove that these people spend their lives watching the prem and have no idea of life outside it. So they make it up as best they can.
