Petrol, lighter fuel or lighter tablets?

Takes a bit of time though. Especially if it is a new bbq, implements, briquettes etc..

You could try one of these http://www.johnlewis.com/230196998/Product.aspx?source=63258&sku=230196998

I have a fast lighting Pedastal BBQ you just stuff newspaper into the pedestal and light it with the charcol on top - its brilliant ready to cook in 10 mins

trouble is I cant see any the same to buy anymore - pedestal BBQ's from garden centres are flimsy cheap things with no access to the chimney etc

That looks quality for the price, told the missus to ram the charcoal bbq up her arse last night were back on gas. Feeling like gas isn't proper bbq'ing though.

Cook the food in the oven and finish off for a couple of minutes on a bbq.

I've never seen the point of that - Meat is better cooked over charcoal as it doesnt dry the same - if you cook it in the oven sticking it on a BBQ for 2 mins at the end doesnt achieve much

You are probably right, but you can still look the part and not get poisoned.
