Energetic box to box midfield performance = should be off at half time Technical ability to bring a ball down/ turn/ shoot, beyond what we've seen in years = send back to Norway Meet mates in the wrong pub pre match = "Clique" Shaking my head
Energetic own box to just past half way line midfield performance without actually doing anything good, constantly giving ball away by either poor passing or bad control = should be off at half time
We all support the club, mate. My definition of happy clapper is a supporter who refuses to see its all going tits up and thinks everything is ok. I was one until I got older and a little more cynical.
Covered more of the pitch than any other player, beat more players than anyone other than Paddy, tackled back, put crosses in. Was several people's MOM. I know it's all about opinions, but I am struggling to see how you can have a problem with JOB's performance today. He's not without mistakes, but show me a player in that XI who is.
I think your describing his Friday night performance v Ipswich. watch todays back on player if you have it
I haven't even seen the Ipswich game, as I was on my way home from a holiday. So that definitely hasn't influenced me. I think you're being unduly harsh, but I'll leave it there.
Today`s team performance gives everyone Carte Blanche to further their attacks on certain players that they dislike.
I also thought JOB had a good game not the Motm but definitely in the top 4 also no way am I watching that again it was bad enough having to watch it once
Disappointing not to win today after having so many good chances AND kept a clean sheet but f*** me the vitriol and sh*** on here from people who claim to be fans does my head in. We're far from the best in the league and on budget that's to be expected, accept it. We've got one of the best players for years in Paddy McCourt but some dimwits on here are already slagging him off. Give me another glass please.........
The Budget card has been played, I'm raising with the' longest time in the second tier' card . as for Paddy ,I'm with you, he's a breath of fresh air in a room full of carbon dioxide but I can also see that his ability to be less than mediocre is equal to his ability to produce a miracle
I had to read that about 6 times but after a while I think I got it! With Paddy it's easy to think that he should be replaced but there's always that niggling feeling that you can't take him off because he might just change the game. Some of his passes today (as others have pointed out) were awesome, and he went on two mazy runs which were only stopped because the groundsman painted the goal lines in the wrong place. Whatever happens this season I'm glad I can watch a player like Paddy McCourt.
I think if he run around a bit more, just running box to box without achieving anything the fans would love him. unfortunately some fans seem to forget the fact he run past 5 players and just remember him giving the ball away a few minutes later
I think what a lot people forget is that glavin and hignett did knack all for the majority of games, but their moments of brilliance were the things that won us games and got people excited. I see that with paddy too, maybe not to the same level, but it is there.
He's got two weeks now to get rid of the pain in his arse and he can only get better when he recovers. What we need to do to rescue our season is easy: - 1) Learn how to exploit the space that appears when all their players get attracted to Paddy (in the nicest possible way). 2) Leave 2 players on the half way line when defending corners. 3) Blast penalties in the general direction of the goal without worrying where the keeper is.
Don't you think he was too deep today Stahlrost? very greedy with the ball on the half way line when he could have passed further than he could ever take the ball.
Yes he was very deep, but maybe that was planned. He's the type of player who gets man marked, but teams are reluctant to man-mark players who hover around the half way line. It's fine if someone else gets in the box instead of him, but as a team we seem to be frightened of their penalty area. We might have to shoot and risk missing! He made a few mistakes today and gifted them the ball near the end by going inside into trouble, but he's still a top player and I always look forward to seeing him play.
