Follwong on from Tykeman's post... Is this something that would interest BBSers if it could be arranged? Who would attend if it could be arranged?
id be up for it, ive met him once or twice before but didnt get the chance to find much out... my first question would be, with all teh savings he's making at oakwell i wonder if he can spare a few bob for my new car.
nah what would he say that he wunt at the official supporters club meetings? be a nice PR campaign for GS but I seem to remember Tommee Tyke being charmed by a chairman after a cup of tea biscuits and i really don't want this site to be edited on behalf of BFC or have "party line" responses like TT did when ever anyone criticised
More chance Of platting fog then getting GS to do what any of us doing what we want him to do.
As jock said, If you want tea an scones then yes, go for it. If you want changes, forget it.

RE: I concur. but if we dont have the opportunity to ask the questions, its hard to judge either way, if people on here, including me, reckon we ahve a good idea how things coule bd done differently, and cant understand sometimes why they're not, and further, that we think we have good arguments to back up what we think, well, we could put it to GS - challenge him with our arguments, and see how he responds, who knows, he may convince us otherwise. hopefully, we're not all so soft as to simply change our opinions after a bit of charm... but it'd be nice for our opinions top be tested.
RE: nah I've not been to any supporters club meetings mainly because they are always midweek. Well i don't think siteadmin are about to start trotting out party line responses but IMHO it would be nice to have a few more facts about what's going on at the club and what the plans are for the future.
RE: More chance but its nto about changes is it, its about asking him for facts, about putting our arguments to him and seeing if he can justify the way he does things. maybe after he's heard us, he says nay, and carries on regardless, but byt eh same token, maybe after we've heard him, we might understand a bit more, and maybe change what we think... but then again, maybe i wont. bit subborn like that. i'd like to see how shep responds to some well thought out, well planned arguments and challenges put to him...
I'd mek one..............but Would it do any good ??? We (or we seem to do now) know that we have some short comings on the playing side. But does it need a bunch off here to tell Shep this......I don't think so, he knows this already. Only question that I would like to know now is this - why we haven't brought new players in to strengthen the squad. Proper Championship players. I don't think he is going to be able to give a truthful answer to this because it may be detrimental to the directors or the management of the club. For example, we offered so and so 2k per week but he wanted 2.2k per week so we didn't pursue him. A comment such as this is going to cause a backlash from the fans So he can't win So all we can do at this time is talk among ourselves and wait and hope But I am open to suggestions
I would be up for it. Be very interesting if we can get "quotes" on the record, be even better if Ritchie would be in attendance!!
RE: I'd mek one..............but I think a meeting with AR would be beneficial too. Clearly GS is saying money is avalable and AR is saying he has none. Only one can be right, which do we believe?
RE: I'd mek one..............but I'm going to believe AR, as Cazi says, in an earlier post ....
"Why on earth would any manager refuse funding for new squad members? It doesn't seem logical at all".
Can anyone really believe that a Manager has turned down the chance to bring in 'better' players.
If he did.

To be honest, although as fans we probably all feel we have the right to be 'in the know' when it comes to the club finances, and who we want to sign, it's hardly in the interests of the club to advertise these things. I mean, if you're negotiating for a player and the other club can easily find out that we really want that man and that we have x amount of money available, it doesn't make it very easy to cut a good deal. I think something similar happened to Leeds United when everyone realised they could have them over.
If you take this as a perfectly good excuse for GR not to tell us honestly how much budget we have and why we haven't bought anyone - why would GR give us a straight answer? It could be that there is a rift between GR and AR - but why would either of them admit it?
Personally I think that GR is stitching AR up - saying publically that there is money available that AR isn't using, but actually making it very difficult for AR to use that money by trying to maintain an unrealistic wage structure.
I don't honestly think we'd get the answers we're looking for.

It would be interesting to have them sat side by side and then ask those questions about available cash for new players.
