Mowatt is Player of the Season thus far, for me. Again. By quite a margin. That's saying more about him than the others. The Redfearn of his era. On a mission. Embodies everything you want in a Red.
I agree totally. Amongst other candidates, I would put Brittain first. He makes a significant contribution every game, is very consistent and makes very few errors.
One of the Callums for me both new to this level. Both taken a massive step up and are thriving. On balance I’d go for Brittain a very astute signing who has quietly made a great impact. Alex started the season quite slowly but once Val came in has been consistently a very high performer.
I think it's worth remembering that this competition isn't the best player over the course of the season, but the best player in the most games. So if you say there's 10 games, Player A gets 7/10 in all games. Player B gets 9/10 in half of them and 3/10 in the other half. Then say Player C is the reverse of that. One of Player B or C wins every game, but most people would probably say Player A is the better player over the course of the 10 games. Obviously it's more complicated than that, but that's why consistent above average players that would probably be called the best player over a long period often don't do well in these.
I get what you're saying, but for me the 2 Callums, Mowatt, Helik, Mads and Woodrow have been outstanding all season. They're giving 7, 8, 9 out of 10 in most performances all season. They very rarely have an off day nowadays. The BBS POTS will be very close and also this will be a very difficult (in a good way) decision to choose the POTY
I totally agree. I think the BBS POTS is great, I was just pointing out that consistent good doesn't do as well as some great and some bad in this format. As it happens I can't argue whatsoever with Brittain and Styles at the top.
