Excellent again today, even better than last week. Really enjoyed it and in the long run, working in that heat is going to benefit all of our fitness. Excellent session Alex, even if the agony of the circuit training made me want to kill you! Nice to see Crystal and Laura for the first time too.
Sorry we didn't stay long Laura is a little under the weather but won't admit it. Hope everyone coped better this week seeing as the training session was earlier in the day before it got too hot.
Believe me.. It was still extremely hot! Really enjoyed it though. If you don't know, I was the one that blindfolded Allen with my hand just to irritate him. hehe.
Good sesh Alex ,just enough mate.
Nice to see Crystal and Laura there,I wish we got more support from the board , it really gives us a big boost when people off the board get behind us,so cheers for that.
well done lads, its all good stuff.
Lets av it...

Yeah it has! No problems encountered so far, been up on the grass where the pitches were, havent had any issues.
Thanks to all who attended A good turn-out. I was very pleased with everybodies application. Everyone got stuck into the phys, and seemed to be enjoying most of it. Strange thing about sessions like that is that you don't realise you've enjoyed it until you've finished it and have relaxed a bit. As the weeks go by we'll steadily pick up the pace a bit, but I'll make sure its mostly with a ball at your feet, so that it's not too tedious. You'll find the sessions are built more around short sprints with shorter rest sessions. But we're building up nice and steadily. You can be sure that come the first games this summer you'll appreciate the hard work you're putting in now. I think we'll use the drills whilst stood in a circle again as I felt that worked well. We can add a few variations to it, then once we've mastered it, we'll use it as our pre-match warm-up. So next week, along with that, we'll work on plenty of short passing games. And we'll also start to do a bit of tactical drills, where attackers and defenders can build on their strengths. Before the first games we'll also look at set-peice drills and have a bit of a chat about formations and tactics. So I'll look forwards to next week (Sat 1030 - 1215 ish) and seeing you all again, and fingers crossed we'll be third time lucky with the weather. PS: try to do a bit of extra exercise mid-week. But not on Friday. Alex (Varley) PPS sorry to our supporters who came to watch. I didn't realise who it was otherwise I'd have come and said hello.
RE: Thanks to all who attended Cheers Al... regarding the time, a couple of people can't attend until about 12pm so was wondering whether that might be a better time to start? The match at 2pm is Portugal v Iran so I doubt many folk will mind missing that? Making it 12.15 would also allow me, Si and Rob to get from the station in time, so I suggest that as the time... Any thoughts?
Mad Dogs and Englishmen! If WorldNet is anything like last year, it will be useful acclimatisation. Any start time suits me really.
RE: Can we aim for 12pm? Ah right... I'll have to have a think about this, it's just that our train gets in at 12 minutes to the hour. But guess I can get the earlier one or the slow train! 12 should be ok.
Those Endorphins are great, aren't they? Thanks Alex, great session once again. Very impressed with the preparation you did. Much appreciated. Stephen
BTW cheers Alex It was a good session though a bit hard on us veterans, especially the lard arsed ones
