Lets face it no manager wants to touch the Barnsley job with a barge pole and your board were absolutely desperate to resolve the position quickly. So what do they do after your excellent win yesterday ?

That's right appoint from within while the fans are still riding high with emotions from beating Leeds. Are you lot really buying into this ? Lets be brutally honest here and this was a classic sign of, smack of desperation by your chairman.

It's simply papering over the cracks. No doubt Flitcroft will have a honeymoon period where results will make him look good but in the long run..............

    Don't say i didn't warn you.

I really think we have something special in Flitcroft, I might turn out to be wrong, and if I am then so be it, there will be plenty other managers of Barnsley FC inmy lifetime, some good, some bad, hopefully Flicker is one of the good ones. We shall see come the end of season.

Oh, back to start another "sensible topic" are you? So far we've had 'thanks for the easy win', 'I've worked it out and you're going down' and now 'aren't you embarrassed by your new managerial appointment'?

Do you honestly have nothing better to do?

Not at all pal - to be embarrassed I'd have to care what the supporters of other sides think of us, which I don't. Who's your team out of interest?

We went for two managers who I think most teams in the Championship would be happy to get. We're bottom of the league and have the lowest budget, so it's not altogether surprising they turned us down. Hopefully one day they'll regret it.

Instead, we've got a guy who has conducted himself with great dignity in the meantime and remains delighted that he's got the opportunity to manage us. He understands the challenge and what is expected, which is to fight and prove the so-called 'bigger' clubs that we can mix it with them, just like we always do.

To be fair everything felt right yesterday from Flitcroft and his assistants to the players and the fans. Why would you be embarrassed by what was on show yesterday?

He's got to be an Owl. Quiet funny really, his team are the dirtiest, ugliest team in the league. You have to be over 6 foot and look like a star-wars cafe 'extra' to get in that squad. He's the one that should be embarrassed.

Oh pack it in, you tedious oaf. We'll be sharing this division with you again next year. Crawl back out in the summer so we can all have a laugh. Sky reported 70+ applications for the job, so even discounting the thirty odd folk on here that probably threw their hats in the ring, that's a lot of applicants that wanted the job, bargepole or not. Suggest you check facts and do a little research before you come on here peddling your tiresome rubbish. Anything else you'd like proving wrong?

No he's from that part of the world that couldn't manage to put together a team on its own, so had to join forces with a neighbouring town. Brighton & Hove Albion. MASSIVE club, apparently.
