    Lazy or in fashion?

Havent shaved for about a month now and its divided opinion of my close family.

Do you have a beard? If not what do you think of them.

Suppose it depends how you keep it, trimmed or just bushy. Not shaved in a week, keep thinking about leaving it but end up shaving after a week!

Got one, grew my first over 40 years ago, the longest I've been beardless in that time is less than 12 months. I've alternated between full beard and goatee over the years, never been about fashion, I just like em. Lazy? not really, I always keep them well trimmed and neat, still shave every day.

I had one from xmas til I had my hair cut short about a fortnight ago. It looked silly as I couldn't get it to blend in with my new short haircut. Growing it again now, due a tidy up now.

Just to add, it's definitely laziness on my part.

Ive tried growing mine on and off for the last few years. Ive gone about a month and half not shaving to let it bush out a bit. Its when it comes to tidying it up that's the problem. I try to tidy it, then it goes tits up so I end up shaving it all off.

Plus our lass hates it. But my 18mth old loves it and calls it tiger whiskers.

You need a proper beard trimmer to get it right and, this will sound a bit puffy, I have very dry skin and have to use a cream and I rub this into my beard, it softens the beard and stops that early growth itch, when I first grew one I knew a guy that sported a real beauty, ex navy, and he always massaged vaseline into his, (oooo matron ). R lass likes me with a beard, probably cos it covers mi ugly mush up.

Ginger ha ha, join the club, mine always grew a light shade of ginger even though my hair ( when I had any ) was light brown, it's now mainly grey, very distinguished, not.

these threads today have drove me to drink.

I have just realised, i'm bald with a potential to grow a ginger beard with hair in my nose, back and ear but **** all on top.

I can imagine my article now on a dating website.

    Fat, lonley bald lovely person,
    quite hairy,
    depressed as....

would like to me to meet the female oppersite to me.

Because I work with food (sort of) I have to shave quite regularly these days otherwise I'd have to wear one of those annoying beard snoods. If it wasn't for that, I'd have a huge old ginger beard because I'm a lazy lovely person.

Living in Leeds I'm unfortunately surrounded by hundreds of hipster knobwipes who think they're the coolest thing since WG Grace cos they've grown their beard 6 inches long. Sadly, they all seem to have managed to attract some damn fine women in the process.

I must admit that it's pleasing to see Gerry Adams back in the public eye though. A proper, reyt, bin arand foriver beard that.

I've have a cycle of leaving it to grow until it annoys the jebus out of me (two inches) then I shave it off only to immediately start growing it again. I got the undercut hairstyle last week to complete the look so now I look like a champion hipster. Saying that, about 50% of Aussie blokes have a beard at the moment so I just blend in. I need some specs with no lenses and a portable record player.

I've had one ever since I was a student and havent shaved since the early 1980's - originally because I was lazy and couldnt be bothered to shave but my then girlfriend now Mrs actually preferred it so I kept it

I find a trim once a week is all thats needed to keep it under control so cant imagine going back to shaving every day now

I've got one, not just because I'm a lazy lovely person (I am), but because I'm a big fat jowly lazy lovely person and it's supposed to hide the jowls a bit.

It doesn't, I look like a bit fat jowly lovely person with a beard - but at least it's not ginger.

I grow one on my long walks as a shaver is too heavy to carry. It does my head in, itching like mad. Really enjoy the ceremonial shave when I get back.

When we go skiing we all agree not to shave for a week, then get some suitable ladies to vote on the results before we come home. I always win.

A bit of stubble - fine.

Thick footballer esque fashion victim beards = horrible, and ridiculous.

    Just shaved mine off

Mainly because 14 year old step daughter says I look like a tit and feek like a border terrier.
