    Why?

Short term - or his McLaren saying he's not confident of beating Estonia without him?

he should always be in the squad

I acknowledge all these arguements about moving forward etc...

however, David Beckham is still a class player, and even if he is not in the starting XI he is too good to leave out completely. He was dropped by McLaren as a scapegoat, to impose his authority on the team and create a particular image with the press.

RE: he should always be in the squad

But I don't see the point in bringing him back now when he's off to LA in the Summer.

    can see your point there

I think he may lose the necessary edge once he moves there, but at least he may get us into the European championships.

I was disappointed really when that move was announced, I think Everton and West Ham or similar both offered deals and he could've spent another couple of years in the Prem, and for England. I think he sacrifced that chance to give his mrs the life she wants and for the money.

Any number of players havent been good enough.

The set-piece or delivery since he left has been appalling.

I'm a bit annoyed he is back...

but i'm more dismayed at the presence of P Neville, Crouch and the absence of hargreaves and Foster. McClaren is so spineless, why doesnt he just stick with lennon until he proves himself or not. why go backwards with beckham.

Brilliant news.... (nodding2fingers) ....You've got to have the best to win matches and hes for certain one of them.

And he should be made captain again aswell. For him to lead the players out at Wembley is what he deserves for what he as given to english football fans '

The guy is top class in everything he does and we all should be proud hes english.... (england) ....
