In today's 'greedy, money is everything' football culture it is nice to see a gesture like this but if helps you to do it when you have over £100m in the bank. Still hats off to him, he didnt have to do it.
Agree. But according to some on here that's evidently not enough. Perhaps he should actually pay the charity for playing for PSG, or give them the shirt off his back (oh hang on, he'll probably do that too).
Not slating anyone just acknowledging Beckhams gesture. Balliotelli went round Manchester giving £5 to people he met ..... Also filled up at a petrol station and paid for everyone's fuel who was at the pump! Still one of my favourite stories was last week and Swansea's captain taking sandwiches to the homeless at midnight before a game!
Where's the proof of that? He donated half of his wages one week to build a school in Sudan, nothing listed anywhere saying he did it every week. Instead of buying friends around the clubs in Manchester and buying whole pubs a round of drinks, I'd have thought about getting my biological Mother off the Wythenshaw Estate one of England's roughest.
Pity he didn't give his birth Mother a fiver who gets something like that an hour from her cleaning job.
They certainly need all the help they can get as the Tory boys are out to destroy them since they dared to take them to court for flouting the ban on fox hunting. The Countryside Allance are using all the tricks in the book to discredit them and the Tory press are backing them by feeding it all to the public.
A lot of the Balotelli stuff is "Urban Myth", not all of it but a lot, Many footballers do great things for charity but you dont hear about it, its not newsworthy to our so called media. Well done Becks.
Yeah,Yeah, Yeah, not wanting to pour scorn on this generous offer, but I would hazard a guess that this salary is considerable less than what it would have been if it had been going to Mr Beckham Ltd offshore account, and that his percentage on the sale of related merchandise/advertising revenue is somewhat proportionally larger. I'm a cynical git I know, and hopefully way off the mark.
A lot of it spread by City themselves to cover the embarrassment they felt at not being able to control him. I liked him thought he was funny but something definitely not right, he's like a kid with ADHD. City had some ill children to come and met the players and he was getting all restless because they were late and started playing up saying he was going home. One of the players had to give him his iPad to play with so he'd stay. Strange behaviour. Hope he sorts himself out as it would be a lot of talent wasted if he carries on like this as no club will want him eventually as he won't be worth the trouble.
FFS give the guy a bit of credit where its due, he didnt have to give anything...bloody hell some of you lot!
Whatever Beckham is, however rich he is, he comes across as an honest bloke who never gives less than100% on the pitch, a good player who made the most out of what he had.....If people like Balotelli had Beckhams drive and determination how good would he be?...
