To my shame that's the first time I've been but I'll be a regular face in future.

The play was Sparkies, about a young lad taking up an electrician's apprenticeship at a pit in '66.

Thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a great little theatre, a bit quaint really, and deserves the support of the town.

    He was excellent.

Also enjoyed Dennis, the Miners'Rest landlord, who plays Stan Still.

    "Pulled art."

SPARKIES........best play in the world !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saw it last time at the lamproom
I posted about it then on here and raved about it
I'll be theer again this Wed night
If tha's got any mining experience especially if tha were a fitter or electrician
    GO AND SEE THIS PLAY
I've been in theatres in London and the plays I have seen have been great
But Sparkies is about the pits in the Wakey and Barnsley areas, its summert different its closer to home and its much easier to relate to it
