I’m struggling to think of a worse refereeing decision not given in our favour. I know we’ve had our fair share of **** go against us but I cannot fathom how he thinks that isn’t a clear penalty, his arm moves in direction with the ball. I just cannot wrap my head around it, it’s the worst ever decision I’ve seen (personally) involving Barnsley.
Jason shackells red card away at hull. Fouled their player who continued and put a cracking shot towards the top corner that was well saved. Ref pulled it back and gave the pen and red for denying a goalscoring opportunity. The goalscoring opportunity that he had a good go at converting.
It’s standard. I’m immune to it these days, we just don’t get these decisions. Just think we’ve not got that bit of quality to get us over the line if I’m honest. I’d have taken the play offs in a heartbeat at the start of the season. Need to regroup and find some form going into them. UTR
I reckon we'll get a penalty eventually, mind you the game will be played by AI with sentient robots by then...
Just seen the penalty we should’ve had today…..what can I say? Gobsmacked. As blatant as you could ever see, what do we have to do to get one?
The worst non-penalty is surely Gary Neville’s waist high foul on Andy Liddell. The ref had a clear view of that one and bottled it. At least it gave us the great night at Oakwell a week later. Hyypia grabbing Howard’s ankle is another one, but again, that led to a great moment a few seconds later.
I think you’re right I can only assume todays decision was on the basis that his ‘arm was in a natural position’ insofar as he didn’t move it out and punch it away. Terrible decision : as - it was about as natural as Katie Price’s left titty : but fair F\/CKS if that was the decision. The inept bell cheese that he was. whereas the Liddell one was an utter disgrace. He saw it and basically decided that Barnsley shouldn’t win at Old Trafford so waved it away, like the cheating bell cheese that he was.
Not sure about that, more likely he was afraid of the reaction he'd get from the crowd and Alex Ferguson.
