When you consider how the game was going. Maybe that’s beside the point, but I just wondered. For all the talk our players were giving before the match, the Donny players were more alert, quicker to the ball and far more decisive in their passing. Fair play to our lads, they buckled down and worked hard when we were down to ten men, but it was always going to be a mountain to climb by that time. Didn’t see the Austin incident as my eyes followed the ball and by the time I looked back their player was in the crowd, so I can’t comment. The Kay incident was directly beneath me. It was a foul and probably deserved a booking. The red card appeared very harsh and I was furious at the time. Having said that Kay went in with intent. But the ref got a lot of other decisions wrong today. I thought he was poor. On the whole I thought we looked like a kick and hope team with little skill or idea. Then again we played much of the game with 10 men so you can’t expect much. Barry Conlon can control the ball on his left thigh like a charm. He’s an absolute expert at it. Unfortunately, that’s got nothing to do with winning football matches. What I want to see him doing is scoring the headers like the one he missed from six yards in the first half. When he does I might start to see what other people see in him. I can’t fault his effort like. He’s alright if we have no plans to score any goals. The rest of the team are OK. For most of them their second touch is a sliding tackle, but we’re watching third division football. Maybe we would have won if the game hadn’t been spoiled by the sendings off. But I couldn’t see it.
Didn't think Donny were in the game, they scored against the run of play and they were hardly in the game even after the first sending off
Well Jay I would agree with you.. but you must have been to a different game than the one I saw at Oakwell. Donny would have got nowt if not for our sheffield "FRIEND"
They were 1-0 up at the time of the sending off And they'd missed a couple of very decent chances. I can't remember us cereating anything before that time. Maybe my memory is playing tricks, so if you could remind me of any chances we had created up until that point I'll concede the point. Only real chance I can remember us creating in the first half was the Conlon header which was later in the game.

Jesus, i dont understand what your going on about? Poor "point" for me!
RE: Sorry :S To say you think we wouldnt have gone on to win after 10minutes of a football match is beyond me.
I just didn't think we started with the right attitude And conceded ground and a goal to the opposition. I think it could have been more. I do then think the players worked really hard to keep us in the game when we were down to 10 men, but it was always going to be difficult after the sending off. My comment was my assesnment of how we started the game.
i thought we lined up wrong hassel is not good enough as a right back and shouldnt have started the game there. austin should never have started on the left, if you think back to last season he was dropped after the donny game because he was palyed on the left and it didnt work, it was never going to today either. and finally a local derby is not the right kind of game for conlon, he is too lightweight. i expected a point at best as soon as the lineup was anounced
the goal was against the run of play, after they scored there was only 1 team in it(admit we didn,t look dangerous)in the 2nd half barnsley were the better team. The only time they dominated was when we were down to 10 men, donny are not a good side it looks like there look has carried over from wednesday!
RE: They were 1-0 up at the time of the sending off Carbon header saved by keeper, Kay header from six yards out put wide when should have done better
As much as you keep harping on about BBB... ..he was 2nd if not the best BFC player today bart a doubt. Nardiello, Richards & Hayes were inneffective to say the least.
As soon as I knew it was Rennie I expected a sending off, pity there were two. I thought we were doing well up to the goal but I didn't think we'd lose. Thought we did very well in the circumstances.
I have to say I thought Conlon was your best player a real threat to us but you didn't seem to do much with the ball except hoof it 40 yards upfield to Conlon. Your defence looked a little shaky to say the least but the forward play from you was not that bad. I thought we won the game because we were stronger on the wings and used the space better. I also thought that the ref had no choice but to send off your two players who were to be honest daft doing what they did and let your side down today. You battled well though during the game and had your chances. You were much fitter than us due to our 120 minutes on Wednesday and it showed at times. We could though have got a few more Forte should have had two, MCguire should have scored that header and we hit the post and had that one cleared off the line. Pleased today we battled hard and I'm looking forward to the next game in three and a bit weeks.
no he wasnt he is a striker paid to score goals that sits in front of the back four. if that is a good performance then id hate to see a bad one.
