Before today's game who really thought we would get anything out of

today's game ? go on be honest ...

Danny sets us up not to be beaten but still there are posters who are suggest that it was wrong to set up to be defensive ? This was against a Leeds side that had Ross McCormick (sp) in their team, a team in the top 6 ? and we kept a clean sheet ?

I'll tell you what if we were to go back to 96/97 and the board was in its current incarnation then there'd be posters saying 'yes we got promoted but we didn't finish top so it wasn't that great'

 

I thought we would, also there are quite a few that keep saying we were lucky to get promoted that year and it was not that hard then compared to now. One comes from West Yorkshire !

I think that there wasn't as much of a money interest back in the day, but we were odds on to go down that season. I think it is harder for small clubs to be promoted but there's always a Burnley type club with a good run

 

I look at the last few years and have seen Burnley, Blackpool etc getting promoted so it proves it is the same now, work hard, have a bit of luck etc but mainly I think it is down to belief in the end , if you belief you can do it then it is easier than thinking you are not good enough .
That has been the problem at Oakwell for the last few years , the management team have kept coming out and saying we cant compete, we are lucky to be in this division etc, it permeates down to the players and they start to think they are not good enough. Mark Maghee helped us to get promoted after he kept saying we didn`t deserve to be up at the top. Danny used those quotes to instill a belief that we were good enough and deserved to be up there.
