Ben Folds - Songs For Silverman

Just bought the CD on the back of his latest single "landed". Its hard to compare him with anyone in particular as there are so many influences evident.

Has anyone else heard it yet?

If so what are your opinions?

 

Absolutely love Ben Folds - if you've never seen him live then get tickets somehow

Saying that - Songs for Silverman is taking more listening to than I expected - some of the other CD's have grown on me quicker than this one - not to say it won't be another I love as it probably will.

Going to see him at Manchester Apollo in December - never seen such a mix of people at his gigs.

 

I think the cds front loaded as the first half a dozen songs are easier to listen to. Best song for me is jesusland.

Think I may be taking a trip to see them myself in future!

 

Very, very good live. I know i've taken two people who weren't really that impressed until going to one of his gigs - really great night. I took my 15 year old stepson who certainly isn't into this sort of music - he's now hooked. Always does a really obscure cover of something by an English band, done The Cure, Housemartins and others - really funny.

Definitely recommend his gigs.
