Just noticed a few players have, deservedly, got their own threads on here by way of special mention. Good stuff; especially when posters post something positive after having slagged the player off previously. I've created this thread for BK because he's had a heck of a lot of stick on here and amongst fans generally - undeservedly so. Humble lad, good keeper, growing with every game. Our Number 1 and thank god he's been on form these last few games because he's saved points for us. As he did today. Keep at it Ben lad!!
Fantastic today, following up from a match winning performance on Wednesday. Massive credit. I posted after the Leyton Orient game that I though he would be dropped, so severe did the impact of his mistakes appear to be on him. I'm very, very glad to say that I'm glad he wasn't.
MoM for me today. Another great game and I certainly wouldn't be worried if we don't sign another keeper in this window.
When it was mentioned in Doug’s recent article that we were looking to sign another keeper this window I must admit I thought we’d be better prioritising other positions on the pitch. After his last couple of performances, I think it even more. Ben deserved his clean sheet today.
I also think he was getting unfair critical comments, earlier on in the season. When he'd hardly played, and had hardly done anything wrong at that time. We thought we had something better with the lad Slonina of course, but that wasn't true as it turned out. Killip has taken the chance well with both hands, and I'd say he's given Clarke and co something to think about. Regarding the need for signing a 'better' keeper this month.
Fair play to him. That Leyton Orient game could have ruined him, but Clarke putting his neck on the line and keeping him in the team has been a major factor in us winning every game since. Fair play to them both. From someone who has criticised the pair of them at times.
