He gets a lot of grief from a few on here and Facebook that I've seen but....

    Winnall
    Scowen
    Hourihane
    Davies

Adding to that Watkins, Roberts and hopefully Mawson were building a young hungry squad with a lot of talent. You can add Lita and Treacy to that list to argue it's not all been plain sailing (which it hasn't) but I think were heading in the right direction on the pitch for the first time in a long time.

Obviously the Head coach has to oversee the recruitment but it's Ben that's going out and negotiating deals with these players and selling Barnsley to them and I think he's doing a cracking job.

We haven't got a new scoreboard and the catering isn't much cop but to me all that's extra as a fan I want a winning team on the pitch first and foremost. That's what will bring fans back not a decent pie at half time or a scoreboard.

Really looking forward to next season now with a few more players to come in we can push for the play offs....

I like Ben, he's going to make mistakes, I mean LDRed didnt know how to put his brithday correctly into a format. We have more connections to the club since hes come in, he listens to the fans and is trying to make Barnsley the best it can be.

Ben is only trying his best for the club, yes he makes mistakes, who doesn't. But I think the club is better with him involved.

I just thought he's had a lot of stick but it's taken time and we are now hopefully seeing the good work coming through. Exciting times ahead with the youth players we've got emerging and the young talent we have been bringing in.... The players from last year should be better for the experience and the new lads coming in will hopefully add a bit of quality....

Agree with all of that. I think we're in better hands than when The Don was at the helm!

Aye, he's doing a reight job.

Unfulfilled promises, relegation to the third tier, a damp squib of a first season and another faltering recruitment drive this summer.

He's better at spin than The Don was but that's about it.

They're both simply paid employees working to budgets, instructions and direction of the owner are they not?

    A few questions....

    What promises?

    Damp squib or consolidation?

    Faltering recruitment?

I'd rather give Danny credit for them to be honest.

I think Don did a pretty good job (Liverpool tickets aside) and I think Ben is doing a good job too.

I never discredited Danny I was referring more to the fact that Ben had managed to persuade them that Barnsley was the best club for them.... Of course the manager has a big say in these things but when it comes down to finalising the deal and getting players through the door Wilson or Johnson have had to rely on Mansford to get the deals done!

How do you know it was Ben that persuaded them and not Danny?
