I keep seeing other players getting slated on here regularly, both Smith's, Wilkinson, Winnall, Digby, both goalkeepers & even Hourihane have all had the treatment but these two seem to avoid it for some reason.

It continues to confuse me that both seem to be so highly rated & above criticism & never get the drop despite so many below average performances.

Young Digby got torn apart for his part in the **** up the other week but it was nowhere near as bad as what Pearson did today. Not only did he play a stupid ball along the floor across the edge of the box when all our lads were in the box, he then chased the Vale player who's was breaking for about 60 yards just on the pitch under the East Stand.

I was screaming at him to put a tackle in & clear the danger because he had no idea who was countering behind him & with Pearson not been on a yellow he simply had to make the tackle / foul, instead he allowed him to turn & play a simple ball inside & the goal came.

After last week at Altrincham as well I can only presume that he'll now be banished to the reserves unless the managers a hypocrite.

Mawson bullied in the air again. Great lad, does loads for charity & the rest but soft as they come for someone his size & gets beat in the air way too many times. Also never a captain in a million years. The only leadership in that side today came from Hourihane & Hammill.

Both have been really disappointing. Mawson put in good displays back in August, both were good in the Everton game & Pearson played well against Swindon & Gillingham but beyond that they've been right let downs.

And I don't really see excuses for them. Apart from 1 or 2 games in midfield for Mawson they both play in there preferred position week in week out, no rust excuses or been played out wide

Ben Pearson is still appealing for that foul he didn't get it. Arms out wide, incredulous look on his face, giving their lass some right grief.

Both need dropping. Not good enough.

I still think there is a decent player in there. Just not seeing it at the min

I've had my say on Mawson tonight and in the past on here. He's rubbish.

I like Pearson and think he's a proper player, but he's made plenty of mistakes recently. Good point regarding Digby. He came in from the cold, made a balls up and seemingly is now not in LJ's plans.

There probably is an average league one player there in a few years but nothing more and certainly not yet

He isn't on his own in not looking the same player as last season. Just like Scowen.

I thought Pearson was poor last season too but you're right about Scowen, he's gone backwards. We have a very very weak central midfield

Pearson looked great when he first came. Direct, strong in the tackle, positive. Both players seem shackled this season. Got to look at LJ.

Still doesn't excuse the treatment of Digby.

I think he's shackled a lot of the team.

Hourihane too, he used to shoot from distance regularly but it seems to have been coached out of him

Mawson is really poor. I've been saying it for 2 months now at least.

He is a league 2 Craine. A failed centre midfielder.

Lol. I thought your head was going to explode. Rightly so as the ball rolled a yard past him while he was protesting.

    What an arse

Never heard you come out with as many expletives before. It was the one thing that made me chuckle rather than join in

Agreed - said it myself for last 5 or 6 games. Add to that the first goal going in and mawson trudging back to half way line with his chin on his chest. Captain my arse. Seen more fight in a 12 year old.

All he can do is hussle and try and win the ball. After that forget it. He cant see a run, a decent diagonal pass ot owt like that. If a teammate not with 3 yards forget it. It will be a sideways past to the closest player whether that is a damgerous pass or not. Hes ****ing clueless.

Are we talking about that incident where instead of just picking the ball back up (not literally, with his hands), and cracking on with the game he stood there and allowed them to break forward whilst waving his arms complaining like a child?

    He's *****.

Pearson was quality today (goal apart)
    Covered every blade of grass.
Got stuck in. Always made himself available. Thought he manned up more today than he has for months
