Adam Davies is the first name on the team sheet for me..... But seriously, Scowen for Pearson and we ok
Totally agree Not sure why he wouldn't sign Not going to play in premier league any time soon and not good enough for the championship Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Scowen, Pearson and Hourihane 3 decent players there for this league, but only 2 places to fill for them in the team, so would leave it has it is at the moment, no tinkering needed.
I agree, very good player. I don't see the case against. He made a mistake for their first goal yesterday but overall his play is very good and worthy of a top 6 team in this league for sure. That said, I would choose either Scowen or Pearson in midfield; neither are particularly forward-thinking - I mean neither generate many goals or assists but their general play is neat and skilful in the middle of the park.
Ben is a good player. A versitile, box to box midfielder with a good engine. Very similar to Josh Scowen in many ways. Problem I see is that we do not have a holding midfielder in the squad and these two often step in to play the defensive role but really their strength is their energy to track back and break forward to support the attack. But with no player in the holding role. If he gets forward we are left exposed at the back. If we had chance to sign Ben, I hope we would take up the option. IMHO he has great future ahead of him. I also feel he could do a job wide right. Likewise Scowen. I felt Josh played some of his best football for us out on left last season and even chipped in with a few goals. Priority come January should be to get spine of the team a no-nonsense centre back (e.g. Ramage), holding midfielder (e.g. Keegan or Wellens) and a Target man (e.g. Waring).
Ben is a very good player: some of the "boys" on here forget he`s only a kid.It would be nice to see him really develop into a top player at our club.If we had a proper experienced centre mid that could play that role in front of the back four it would release Ben to be more attacking.
I don't mind him but see him as back up when Scowen is fif. A bit too negative on the whole for me but gives cover.
Ben Pearson is a fantastic player, who is still learning the game and makes the occasional massive mistake. Sadly as he's a holding midfield player, he generally puts our already nervous back 4 under pressure. Like their first goal yesterday. Like the goal at Altrincham. I like him, and I think he's going to be a fantastic player. Maybe not first name, but rightfully in the side at the minute. Whether we should swap him for Scowen when he's back is another matter. Don't think I agree with the argument that he's young & will get better. Most of the young players who come through at Man Utd tend to be at the peak of their powers early on due to the quality of coaching they get from a young age. It's not like a Scowen or Hourihane who we've got from lower leagues & can still develop loads. Most of the Man Utd youngsters I can think of in the last 10 years didn't really get much better after 20/21. I'm thinking O'Shea, Brown, Gibson, Fletcher, Welbeck, De Laet, Bardsley, Richardson etc. The obvious exception been Drinkwater
How can you say he is a fantastic player and then go on to say 'he generally puts our already nervous back 4 under pressure'. As a holding midfielder it is his job to take pressure off the back four, if he is outing them under pressure then you can't say he is a fantastic player. Well you can but you'd be contradicting yourself
Not a holding midfielder.loads of energy.can pass with both feet.likes a tackle.good young player who will only get better. Should sign him if we can. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
