    In what context?

I've seen great victories at all those band ones. If mean safety, crampness etc then worst ones include Selhurst Park, Turf Moor, Goodison Park, Layer Road etc

Burnley - how it used to be, no idea what it's like now, haven't been for years, but when it was mostly terracing it was superb.
Huddersfield - when they played at Leeds Road. It was nowt to write home about actually, but I've been when there were 28,000 in it, half of which must have been Barnsley fans. We actually lost the game 1-0 and didn't play at all well, until Neil Copper came on, bringing to an end a 22(?) match unbeaten run. But I remember entering the ground, seeing all our fans and thinking, "this is ******* brilliant." Just how it should have been.

    Worst
Any of the new plastic stadiums that all look exactly the same. Blindfold me, take me to any of the new grounds, cover up any signs that state the clubs name and I'd have absolutely no idea where I was.

The grounds built between 97-03 are all exactly the same, no character, you've been to one you've been to them all.

Also find Hillsbrough and Elland Road a bit of a nightmare - too many people packed into a small space on the concourse in the upper tier, not a nice experience, especially when sober.

    Oakwell when there was terracing
    Highbury always liked the clock
    Millennium Stadium
Though I also have a soft spot for Griffin Park Brentford as you can't best a pub on every corner of the ground

    Worst

Brisbane Road when it only had 2 sides
    Underhill
Any of the 'new' identikit stadiums that look like they were built from an Ikea flat pack.

Bramall Lane has a decent away end and is one of the few stadiums that has retained its original character after extensive redevelopment.
The Ethiad is an excellent example of a new stadium, though to be fair I was there for a Manchester derby, which probably added to the experience somewhat. The Donbass Arena in Donetsk is also spectacular inside and out, with a very decent atmosphere. For old grounds always liked Peterborough.

    Worst

S****horpe - only built 25 years ago and already in need of demolition
Elland Road - an almighty hell-hole in every repect
The Petrovsky Stadium (Zenit) - looks pretty cool from the outside, but inside is a horror of Soviet design and architecture in every way imaginable. Awful view from 90% of the seats, no roof, and located on a tiny island with one bridge, so any evacuation would end in absolute disaster.

No it's great there. Nice compact stadium, Old Farmhouse nearby for pre match drink/food and park spitting distance from the away end.

I never liked Roker Park (Sunderland), Victoria Park (Hartlepool), Blundell Park (Grimsby), the Shay before it was developed (Halifax) & Boundary Park (Oldham). I was always freezing cold and/or wet at these grounds, irrespective of the time of year.:D
I always enjoyed my visits to Bootham Crescent (York) & Boothferry Park (Hull), probably because we nearly always won there!:D

The new Wembley, Millenium Stadium and the Emirate are all nice grounds if you like that sort of thing. It was certainly exciting playing with the roof closed. And Old Trafford was impressive. But my three favourite grounds, apart from our own, are Charlton, Accrington (ramshackle, falling to bits, ridiculous away end, but fab) and I thought Wigan's was impressive for a new ground.

The worst were Halifax in the 70s, Portsmouth (always get thrashed, always get soaked and always have to fear for your life getting back to the station) and Brighton's Goldstone Ground just before it got demolished. They'd really let it go before finally demolishing it.

    * Best *

    Oakwell - home.

Burnley - Turf Moor - proper old ground. Can make some reyt noice in that away end too.

Blackpool - Bloomfield Road - always a great day out drinking in Blackpool. The temporary away end and the portaloo cabins are shocking, but it adds to the experience for me. Like the fact that you might fall through the floor at any time.

    * Worst *

    Hull - KC

    Derby - iPro Stadium

    Man City - Etihad

All very, very, very, very, very, very boring. Change the names can colours around and they could easily be each others.

How can you have Luton as your worst - I love that ground - the turnstiles in peoples front rooms the walk between the back gardens to the stand - its got real character - fair enough on the other two though

    My worst though are
Brighton - Withdean - wins hands down nothing else even comes close
Loftus Road - **** ground and we always always lose
then any one from Bristol City Hillsborough Ellend Road etc - there is a whole set of out of date grounds that need re-doing and hard to pick between them

    Best
Oakwell in the old days when it was all standing - especially when the Ponty was roaring and Ronnie Glavin was always scoring - tuesday night games in particular - just loved it - still my idea of heaven
    Millenium with the roof closed.
and I do like Charlton - shame we arent going there again next year

Bath - when we played Bristol Rovers away
    Ayresome Park

No nostalgia from me. Most of the old grounds were garbage and unsafe.

    Worst
Hartlepools - they had a temporary stand that was built after the main stand was bombed during the war. They still hadn't replaced it when Barnsley visited in the late 60's. There was also a wire-netting fence all the way down one side. Surprised no-one went along with bolt cutters

Rotherham (Millmoor) - a death trap, surprised that only one person was killed in that crush down that alley to the away end. Also got a barrage of coins, bricks, spit and anything else from the nutters above.

Darlington. - take a stroll through Locke Park and come across a corrugated iron Anderson shelter type thing - that was Darlo's Ground at the Feethams. Reight dump.

    Hamburg SV
Modern covered stadium with standing area behind each goal, Fantastic acoustics make the atmosphere incredible.

    Anfield
Never seen Barnsley lose in the three times I've seen them there - two wins and a draw and a fantastic atmosphere. Also been on the Kop when it's been in full voice - most noise I've ever heard.

    Newcastle
Been a few times and atmosphere is always electric

Worst: Springfield Park (old Wigan ground), worst by an absolute distance. Loftus Road, always lose, pretty much always some injustice or bad luck or horror show and it's made out of a mix of lego brick and fused corrugated iron. And Filbert Street. Ridiculous how they could put you in the furthest corner from the pitch, cover just about every viewing angle and actually charge you money for it.... plus i never forgave David Kelly getting two goals in the 2-2 draw when the one from a corner was outside the D!

Best... San Siro (sorry, i'm still smitten from the fans passion!).... St James Park, big but passionate and characterful.....and Oakwell. I love our ground. And i know so many many opposition fans who love the day out and the character of the ground. Different sized stands, giving away fans behind a goal, not a cheap "bowl"... pretty much the one thing to shout about.

I like Anfield too, and Charlton, but apart from those, there aren't many grounds i actually like.

I've not included the identikit grounds. They are just all blah and many of the bigger clubs grounds are dull too. I've been to the Emirates a few times and i just can't get excited about it (once in hospitality for my fiancees dads 70th)
