Now we have had the home one let's do the away.

Best- hammering Birmingham at St Andrews in the play off under bassett, Birmingham again under hill was a good one. Wallsall in the league under hecky this season 1-3 especially 2nd half just totally footballed em to death.

Worst- Huddersfield away in the relegation season under flicker we got a hammering and break Shea and Dawson had a spat with fans a real low.
Doncaster away under Wilson 90 mins of my life I'll never get back going to keepmoat and playing for a draw and deservedly getting beat.
Altrincham under Johnson in there too.

I've only been to a handful of away games, but Tranmere in 93 or 94 wasn't fun. Sat in the home end while they knocked 6 in after being outplayed for big chunks of the game...

That 5-0 defeat away at Hudds was under Danny Wilson.

The only cheer from Reds fans was when he finally brought Paddy McCourt on.

    4 goals against too late!

That game and Altrincham away stands out.

Best Liverpool FA cup, Huddersfield in the Play Offs, Huddersfield survival season, Wigan 4-1 win and both away games against Walsall last season were very good!

One of the worst - on a personal level. We had lost to 1-6 to West Ham in the Premier League. Came out of Upton Park at night time, up to the tube station and went to vault the barrier to join the queue.

Felt something on my hand, looked down to see my palm & fingers covered in dog s**t. which someone had scraped on the barrier rail. Had to travel the 23 stops on the District Line back to Southfields with my hand hanging down, and folk avoiding the seat next to me! Couldn't wait to get in to wash and disinfect!

Literally a **** performance that evening.

Yer it was under Wilson couldn't remember if it was Wilson or flicker tbh. But break Shea was one of Wilsons signings so should have known. The more I can forget about that game the better.

The loss to marine in the FA cup ....came home covered in mud, a thick head, due to booze and finding out how narrow the back of a police transit van was...failing that i had a big head at the time, lol because i recall hitting both open doors when PC Plod gently placed me inside it.....move along nothing to see here....lol

He chose to bring Brek Shea on before McCourt as well.

When you look at the misfits we had playing that day it's not wonder we took such a hammering.

Kennedy, Mellis, Frimpong, Liam Lawrence, Proschwitz, Dawson, Jennings, Shea and although I love him Paddy!

Martin Woods, Pedersen and M'voto and Dibble on the bench.

What an awful awful team that is. Dead fish eyes!

Brilliant away performances over the years have been few and far between. The Wast Brom away game the season we went up to the Premiershit was a great performance and the start of something. The two Liverpool cup ties at Anfield also spring to mind. But I'm going for the 2-1 wn away to Leeds under Machin a great team performance against the odds. The play win against Huddersfield was also pretty sweet.

Despite watching every game we have conceded 7 in since the infamous 7-1 drubbing at Reading it's a couple of cup games that take the words spot for me. The 2-1 wn at Bromsgrove where I literally apologised to the Bromsgrove fans afterwards I thought would never be topped under the Altrincham debacle last season. The creme de la creme of ***** performances.

The team that flicker got together was bad enough then to bring in Shea, frimpong, proschwitz in January with the aim to stay up we had no chance.

Best - Huddersfield play offs, Charlton (07-08 I think). That's just off top of my head.

Worst - as already mentioned Huddersfield a couple of years ago. Doncaster the other year. Rochdale and altringham last season. Again that's just off top of my head.

Best Birmingham away in the play offs, Wigan last season or seem to remember us playing well at Bolton away in the Bassett season Barnard scored a cracker after a brilliant cross field ball from Hignett.

Worst- 6-1 away at Grimsby the one where Rankin scored an hat trick when he was on loan from us I think and it was freezing. Donny away losing 4-0 under Hart was bad and freezing as well.

Best.... thought quite a bit here, and plumping for Leeds away in 90/91. We were sacrifical lambs to the slaughter, they were on the cusp of winning the league, we were up against it to stay up.

They went 1-0 up (Chris Fairclough if I recall) and the crowd was one of the most intimidating i've experienced.

Came out 2-1 winners courtesy of Archdeacon and O'Connell and followed it up with a 2-1 win at the blunts, and a 1-0 win at ayresome park to stay up.

It wasn't an outfootballing day, but take into account the opposition, the match situation, the crowd and our respective league positions and it was gutsy beyond belief.

    Worst... Bromsgrove. Hands down.

The 5-0 win at Wolves in 91 was brilliant, and we never had a corner in the game. But Leeds away when we won 2-1 in 1989 is my personal favourite.

Worst - Bromsgrove in the Cup.

Best: Huddersfield at home with Barnard's worldly.
Worst: Birmingham at home, lost 6-0 iirc

Does a neutral ground count as away?

We were a poor side that was on its way back to the old 4th division. I had been to Rhyl to watch a 1st round cup game, which we drew 0-0. We had expected to beat them in the replay at Oakwell, but a Les Lea goal was only good enough for 1-1. For the 2nd replay, Johnny Steele pulled in a few favours, and the game was scheduled for Old Trafford, Manchester. With just 3,000 in a ground that was currently 64,000, we lost 2-0 and were a total disgrace. I didn't go to many away games after that.

Aye that was my best. A Friday night game so we got maximum write ups in the paper the next day as it was probably the highest profile game that was on that night.
