That's 25 years in new money. Please excuse my liberal solution to the problematic left wing. David Seaman Gary Neville, Tony Adams, Sol Campbell, Stewart Pierce David Beckham, Stephen Gerrard, Paul Gascoigne, Ashley Cole Alan Shearer, Gary Lineker
Wow - pretty much who I would pick too. Assuming you mean Stuart Pearce (sorry, it's the spelling Nazi in me). The only difference for me would be Glenn Hoddle in midfield (removing your new-found left winger, tosspot Cole) - Hoddle just sneaks in under the 25-year ruling. If you want more balance, then maybe John Barnes, but he never really performed that well in an England shirt, with a couple of notable exceptions. Just goes to show how poor the current crop is that we would both include only Gerrard and Beckham from the last 5 years or so.
I'd swap Gerrard for Bryan Robson, Cole for Chris Waddle and Adams for Des Walker. And the first name on my subs list would be Peter Beardsley.
Martin Neville Adams Walker Pearce Robson Gascoigne Hoddle Beardsley Shearer Lineker Always thought Nigel Martin was quality and should have had a lot more caps.
Problem with nigel Martyn was when he did play for England he didn't do too brilliantly. Seaman Neville Butcher Ferdinand Cole Beckham Lampard Gascoigne Scholes (played there in euro 2004 and looked good) Sheringham Lineker How about turning it on its head - worst eleven from the same period? Chris Kirkland (Scott Carson came close) David Bardsley Zat Knight Anthony Gardner Michael ball Stuart ripley Carlton palmer Gavin McCann Alan Thompson Michael ricketts Brian Deane
Seaman Neville Campbell Terry Cole Beckham Gerrard Hargreaves Rooney Shearer Owen Can't remember much pre 1998 so can't really put Gazza in my team despite how good he undoubtedly was. Hargreaves might be controversial but he bossed the midfield in 06.
Scott Carson Chris Powell Neil Ruddock Keith Curle Michael Ball Stuart Ripley Carlton Palmer Seth Johnson Steve Guppy Michael Ricketts Francis Jeffers
I'm Rubbish at these, but here goes. I'm going to pick players i really like and age does not come in to it Seaman (although when he's 30/35 i think i would pick Hart). Johnson Ferdinand Terry Cole Hargreaves Gerrard Wilshere Beckham Walcott Rooney
There are some high achievers in there Hemsmacher!! Legends!! It must have been Theo's one good game against Croatia in 2008 that got him the nod over Lineker, Owen, Shearer and the others with 20+ goals that you could have had.
14 FA cup's between back 4 or 11 Premier league winners. Cole's won the most FA cup's individually since it started. Can't get better than that for the world oldest and best Football knock out cup. Edit, that should be 13 Premier league winners medals between back four.
Joe Hart Gary Neville Tony Adams Sol Campbell Stuart Pearce David Beckham Paul Gascoigne Paul Scholes Chris Waddle Alan Shearer Teddy Sheringham
I've only watched football from the 98 World Cup when I was six so not a lot to go on. But here's mine: Best XI: David Seaman Gary Neville Rio Ferdinand John Terry Ashley Cole David Beckham Steven Gerrard Frank Lampard Joe Cole Michael Owen Wayne Rooney
Chris Kirkland Viv Anderson Carlton Palmer Keith Curle Andy Hinchcliffe Geoff Thomas Kevin Richardson Andy Sinton Jay Bothroyd Francis Jeffers David Hirst
