...... just been on the radio that there was trouble just before the kick off last night when fans without tickets, or with fake tickets, tried to storm the gates to get in when the ground was already full. Not sure how true that is, or what the scale of it was, but you have to ask the question .... will they ever learn? They were completely blamesless of course at Hillsbrough, oh aye, best fans in the world them witty scousers
From what was said on Radio 5. People with fake tickets had managed to get in, then people with genuine tickets turning up 5 mins before kick off (would you do that on such a big game? You'd want to take in the atmosphere) were sprayed with pepper spray at the 2nd turnstyle having got through the 1st, and told ground full. Some Milan fans were interviewed and had similar stories.
but UEFA have to take some responsibility in this because of low ticket allocations if Liverpool and Milan had been given more than 17,000 or whatever it was the problem would not have been so large in the first place because more people would have been able to obtain legitimate tickets, which they woulp prefer to do anyway as I imagine those fake tickets would have set people back quite a bit.
Fair point but ........... .......... (from BBC News Website) ........... "The kind of pushing that was going on and the attempts to jump over barriers - imagine if we had turnstiles, we could have had a tragedy" "More than three hours before the game there were incidents at the Liverpool end with people trying to get in either with fake tickets or jumping over the barriers" .....I'm sorry, but you would think they would be the last set of fans to try these 'tactics'
Ah yes I’ve bought and have an authentic ticket. What’s that Mr Officer, someone with a fake is sat in my seat. Ok then fair do’s I’ll watch the game in a bar. What would you do pal. Especially in a decent group. Don’t tell me you’d accept it and walk away. I know its wrong but yes among with Celtic fans they are the best fans in the world.
I'm not surprised they were annoyed but best fans ...nah! Much prefer Everton fans ... more passionate about their team and the game.
Liverpool have the cheek to talk about man utd fans not being from mnachester they are just as bad

A Liverpool fan on the news, telling how he got in to the game with a fake ticket and he knew it was a fake and didn't cost him anything, quite open and seems quite proud of it!
Newcastle.......... United fans for me are the best in the world. To fill that massive ground every league game year after year and to have put up with 40 plus years without a trophy is a credit to the fans sticking by the club through thick and thin.
RE: Newcastle..........bunch of hooligans just cause they turn up to watch their team doesnt make em the best in the world, besides, there nowt else to do in Newcastle on a sat pm
Liverpool fans robbin their own inc kids just had em on radio saying they saw lots of L/pool fans robbing tickets of their own fans, both ioutside the ground and in the city centre, dare we mention Hillsboro
Why? How long have we gone without winning a major trophy? What makes a Newcastle fan better than a Barnsley fan or a York City fan? I don't get this argument "because they still turn out in their numbers" because it's all down to individuals - I go to Oakwell and have done for over 25 years, thats all I can do to influence the attendance, just because Newcastle happen to have more does not make them better.
RE: Newcastle.......... Those 'best in the world' Newcastle fansdidn't fill they're 'massive ground' in the early eighties, when they were struggling around the bottom of the second division.
eg. 1980/81 - average crowd of 17,350 ...... not even half full.

RE: Newcastle.......... no atmosphere, just slag off their players and away fans for singing. miserable bunch of sods.
Hahahahahahaha ...... You should try living there, they are worse than Man U fans when it comes to talking themselves up.
Until Keegan turned up they used get less than 10,000 regularly.

As big as Barcelona you know! And their fans seem to think everyone has the same level of dislike for Sunderland as they do.
Barcalona are small fry compared to the Toon! The most arrogant bunch of ******* I have ever known.
Didnt mind them until I went to live there.
