We are driving down on Saturday and staying in Hemel Hempstead. Anyone any thoughts on the best option from there? Most people seem to park at Stanmore and get the tube to Wembley Park. But this tends to be the busier of the two Wembley tube options (Wembley Central being the other), and I have heard people say that, even though it's a 15 minute walk, you are likely to get away more quickly from Wembley Central. If we went that way we'd probably park at Harrow & Wealdstone.

    Any thoughts?

We go the cup final every year and go through Wembley Park Tube. The cup final is always a capacity gate so will be bigger than ours on Sunday.

Even though Wembley Park is busy, it is remarkably efficient at shifting people on a match day. Apart from being held up just before the steps into the tube for 5 minutes to keep the crowds in the station manageable, we have never experienced any problems with Wembley Park. We are heading for Stanmore, and through to Wembley Park from there.

By the way if traveling to station by car theres a magic roundabout to negoitate.
Dont know how to put travel details up but here goes
    Sunday 3rd (9-45)
    platform 4 london euston train
    Two stops (14 minutes)
    Harrow and wheadstone.
    Off train via exit 1
    Tube
    Bakerloo line elephant and castle
    4 stops
to wembley central. (8 minutes ).
Hopefully that helps always get a return ticket - cheaper.

Thanks. I'd thought about doing it that way. Got grandkids with us so want to make it as uncomplicated as possible.

Just had conformation from my son .cheapest and most frequent trains overground or overground tube is Watford junction and its cheaper at watford junction to park .if your staying in Apsley area of Hemel Hempstead its closer too.
Harrow and whealdstone trains can be a bit difficult to get on when comming back.
    when coming back
Dont be diverted to the other station.by the police .Go to where you got off originally.
