gunna take kids to coast one day over hols wondered where best place is to go as not been lately. went to brid last year but wondered what cleethorpes was like ?
Cleethorpes is ok on a nice day. Only an hour to get there. Suggest u park at the South side, past the sports centre. There's a free sand plaground there, boating lake, train rides. Also free paddling pool (not sure if open off season). Huge indoor play area at this end (next to McDonalds) - which is a blessing if the rain turns up! Also a big Chinese Restaurant near the Boating lake - in the week they do a good all you can eat Buffet. Then you can walk up past the sports centre towards the centre, and get the land train up to the pier. Loads of amusements & fair type rides up there - I usually try to give this area a miss, cos it's fairly tacky, and you can end up spending a fortune, but the kids always want to go there. Further South, there's Fantasy / Pleasure Island (not sure of name)for older kids. Loads of fairly scary looking rides in there. I actually am not a big fan of the seaside, but our kids like going, so it's easy enough & not too far.
hey Fi booked any campsites yet??? gotta get in early, been told bookings are up 40% this year due to the credit crunch
Not yet .. I know we need to get sorted - we were a bit casual last year - waited for the weather forecasts. Not going to get away with it this year. Still fancy a weekend at Callow Top. Also need to get roofbox sorted. My genius deedar dropped it with the key in - key shattered in the lock - cant open it now!! (doh)
Or You can live at the seaside. Everyday is like a day out here not so much fun when it comes to driving to Oakwell mind
