It’s close between a few but I am going for Stewart Barrowclough ,that lad was exciting when he was flying down the wing

I'm a young'un and I can only go on my time and what I've seen, but I'll never forget JCR's performance against Donny circa 2008. The entire time we had him I always trusted him to pull something magic out of the hat.

In my time (since about 92), I'm going to have to go for Adam Hammill.

I guess it could be a similar one to the Glavin vs Redfearn thing. If you're old enough to remember Glavin, he's your favourite, if not you'd go for Redfearn.

Similar era for me and I'd have to go Hammill.

Adam for me, but see below.

Barra was a brilliant winger who could cross a ball properly and not slam it straight into the first defender every time. Messrs Cadden and Edwards, please take note.

And in my first Reds team, we had Bob Earnshaw and George Hamstead. Only Fourth Division, but good at that standard. One a speedster, the other a tricky ball player who was brilliant at taking corners.

Older fans will no doubt say Arthur Kaye. Never saw him, but from things I read, he must have been a reyt player.

The history books have lots of examples of the Reds having exceptional wingers, most of whom moved on to bigger clubs.

Players using the full width of the pitch with skill and pace to stretch defences and create holes in them, to set up chances for themselves and others? Nah, why would you want that?

Most exciting single performance. Has to be Stewart Barraclough v Sheffield Wednesday. 1981 at the sty.

Had their full back (was it Sterland?) on toast all game. He was unplayable. They somehow came out of it with a 2-2 draw after we’d battered them.

Yes mate. Known as the flying pig. And highly rated. Adored by the fans. But as you say. Barraclough tore him a strip. My workmate, a blunt, next day said he'd listened to it on the radio. And the commentator said, " wendy had better bring another ball out second half as they'd not touched the one in the first"

Barra for me too. His lad looked like a player too until injury did for him.

Others worthy of a mention include Winston Campbell, Bobby Downes and Martin Bullock.

Was just going to mention Carl…. He showed good potential but never really recovered.
    Good call with Downes

For quality crosses look no further than Disco.
Just look at the balls he put in for wins in the FA Cup in 2008 against Liverpool and Chelsea.

My brother in law, who died last year aged 80 supported us since early fifties and he always said that Kelly was the best without a doubt.
Winnie Campbell and Stewart Barraclough were his other favourites

    Another for Barrowclough here. Maestro.
Don't remember him scoring too many but beating a man and getting a cross in, he was ace at.
Also rated Alan Birch, but he may have been a winger come striker.

    Barra for me.

    Devaney, underrated by many.
