We've Paul Robinson in goals, James O'Brien ont wing though.

Their first goal took a reight deflection. Second goal was gash defending and Steele shouldn't be beaten from there either.

Great goal from Proschwitz, unlucky with his first effort (he thought he was offside) from Kennedy's superb cross. Definite penalty for the shirt tug and lean on Lawrence. Calm as you like from COG.

    You Reds.

The video unfortunately doesn't show events a few seconds leading up to Blackburns first goal.............to me it looked like the usual pathetic clearance from Steele

We were being absolutely battered until we got the first goal against the run of play
After that we were in total control, Blackburn were really deflated, as they had all the game up to that point and found themselves one nil down............that's until Steele decided to play for the opposition and started passing the ball to players with blue shirts on
They score a goal through a mistake by Steele, this lifted their confidence to go on and get another........which Steele maybe should have had
I cant see Steele being in the first team for much longer at this rate
Good shot stopper but atrocious at high balls..........and surely cannot be called a footballer if he cannot pass the ball

Other than that.........Dawson is going to find it hard to get back in the side
    Nyatanga isn't a full back
Dunn was far and above any other player on the pitch and was easily the MOTM

On the whole Barnsley look a bigger, stronger and faster team than they did before Danny took over
And it dosent matter if we go up, down or sideways the feelings surrounding the club are much more positive now Danny is in charge

You obviously don't rate Steele, but didn't their first goal result from Crainey heading clear when he should have let the ball go through to the 'keeper? Or do you prefer your view of it?

I'd have to agree with Nudger to be honest. For the first goal Steele hesitates for a low cross from the left which should have been dealt with. Low and behold a minute later they've scored. I know there could be a lot of ifs and buts within that minute but by claiming that original ball I doubt a goal would have come as play would have been slowed and we would have had possession. For the second Steele should be saving those efforts especially considering his shot stopping abilities. For those who state he 'kept us in it' in the first 20 minutes, the shots he had to save were routine and even then he made a meal of them.
This isn't a Steele bashing post, I actually rate him, but I cannot agree with some on here stating he played well because he didn't, he was woeful.

Yep - I pretty much agree with that assessment.

No matter what happens on the field you are still able to get positives out of it

The positives of the match against Blackburn showed that most of the team has improved under Danny
And the other positives revealed that Steele is consistently putting the team on the defensive because of his poor distribution of the ball..........so obviously the team as a whole will struggle to improve until he is replaced
Another positive finding was that when confronted with a player of Dunns class it needs more than one defensive midfielder in the middle

How can you blame Steele for the first when it was a poor clearing header from Cranie that dropped to the opposition?

I'm not blaming Cranie either, but come on.

And the shot took a wicked deflection that altered the trajectory of the strike.

Some of you going way over the top. There might of been errors in the build up but he could of hit that shot a 100 times & it might of only took that freak deflection once or twice.

Just a few seconds before the Sky Sports clip - Steele boots it straight out to a Blackburn player
Barnsley were struggling to get the ball out and were all over the place at that point - after the Steele clearance the ball came straight back, Barnsley didn't have enough time to regroup, and in a few seconds they had scored.

Take note next time you see him play..........at a guess his percentage passing rate is only about 50%...........that is to say, a blind man could with a bit of luck pass the ball better

So you're blaming Steele for the goal because one of his kicks went to the opposition, and after Blackburn put a ball in that Cranie didn't clear well, Cairney then struck a decent effort that deflected over and into the net?

    Wow.

As I said in my OP, the second goal was poor goalkeeping from Luke. But I've no vendetta and won't be blaming him for the first.
