Because the attitude down at oakwell is so unprofessional that it stinks and it is your money that they are pissing up the wall
I don't think that picture really cost them owt to take though and it's not going to result in a loss of sales as such, it just may fail to do what a well thought out campaign may have achieved.
it will result in a loss of sales though a professional photo might only have sold an extra 10 shirts but that is 400 quid that the club is missing out on
Club shop recorded nearly a million pound in sales last season. Agree the pictures cack but it wont stop people buying it.
RE: it will result in a loss of sales though That's potential though. I think people who were going to buy it before will still buy it, and the quality of the product will sell it (or not) to others. But the way it is presented should fit into a wider strategy which could lead to greater sales across the board.
RE: it will result in a loss of sales though ah just seen pm that is pretty shambolic. She needs reprimanding.
It's embarrassing This is the number one selling item in any club shop which will make the clubs a lot of money. And all we get is someone with an early camera phone taking the phone, someone squeezes the image and then put it on the website not much bigger than a stamp. Outstanding!
RE: it will result in a loss of sales though it just gives off the wrong message, a poor quality photo of a player with a floodlight sticking out of his head which I can hardly see....
The thing is it isn't her as such, it is the whole department. Somebody should be taking charge and something as important as launching the season's kit should be planned in advance with images cleared by the marketing department before they are released.
RE: It's embarrassing I was hoping for better given PC's comments on BFCs marketing to-date. The 'Stronger Together' campaign was a reasonable idea which lacked a bit in execution but was a decent platform from which to move forwards, this is back to square one.
Key dates in the diary of a football club's marketing department: 1) Season ticket launch 2) Kit launch In that order.
