Did we really deserve that?

Notice Man Utd did not get any fines.

With the standard of reffing I feel for some of the non league clubs who have quite hefty fines..

    I take it back..

We had the worst record in League 1 last season..

101 yellow cards and 7 reds..

We were fined £5000 with another £15000 suspended based on how we progress this season.

So Marc Richards, you did not help with a silly booking!

    If I remember rightly though

Some of the refs were excedingly card happy towards us and let the opposition get away with much more. Dont remember many the other way round though!

I assume you expect the reffing to average itself out over a season but we definitely had more agaist us than favouring us (and not many genuinely neutral ones either)

    REDS HIT WITH £5000 FINE

    BARNSLEY-FOOTBALL-CLUB

BARNSLEY FC have been fined £5000 after a hearing into the Reds' on-field disciplinary record during the 2005/06 season.

The Reds have also had a £15,000 fine suspended until the end of the current campaign pending significant improvement in its disciplinary record.

In a statement, The Football Association revealed:

AT a series of Disciplinary Commissions held during June and July, fines have been issued against a number of clubs for their poor on-field disciplinary records during the 2005/06 season.

Several clubs had suspended fines from the 2004/05 season invoked. The Commissions decided that the clubs had failed to show an acceptable improvement in their record last season.

Blackburn Rovers were fined £70,000, of which £50,000 had been suspended from 2004/05. In addition, a further £70,000 fine will remain in place for the 2006/07 season.

Leeds United were fined £30,000. This was part of a £45,000 suspended fine from the 2004/05 season, £15,000 of the suspended fine was waived.

Millwall were fined £30,000 in total including a suspended fine of £20,000 being invoked from 2004/05. A suspended fine of £40,000 will be in place for the forthcoming season.

Chester City were fined £15,000 including a £10,000 suspended fine from 2004/05 and a further £10,000 suspended for next season. A suspended fine of £20,000 issued to Boston United for their record during the 2004/05 season has been carried forward to the forthcoming season.

Non-League clubs Tamworth and Waltham Forest also had suspended fines from 2004/05 invoked. Tamworth were fined £9,000, including £6,000 suspended, and a further £7,000 suspended for 2006/07.

Waltham Forest were fined £3,500, of which £3,000 was suspended from 2004/05, and £1,500 remaining in place for 2006/07. A £2,500 suspended fine issued to Kendal Town in 2004/05 has been carried forward for the 2006/07 season.

The Commissions also dealt with other clubs whose poor disciplinary records during the 2005/06 season warranted consideration. The clubs were fined with further suspended fines for the forthcoming season issued pending significant improvement in their disciplinary records.

Barnsley and Gillingham were both fined £5,000 with a further £15,000 suspended. Barnet were fined £3,000 (£10,000 suspended) while Rushden & Diamonds (now of the Conference) were fined £2,000 (£10,000 suspended).

Decisions were also reached regarding a number of Non-League clubs: Stevenage Borough (£6,000 fine, £4,000 suspended); Eastleigh (£1,000 fine, £3,000 suspended); Havant & Waterlooville (£1,000 fine, £3,000 suspended); Vauxhall Motors (£1,000 fine, £3,000 suspended); Winsor & Eton (£750 fine, £1,750 suspended); Northwood (£500 fine, £3,000 suspended); AFC Wimbledon (£500 fine, £2,000 suspended); Ashford Town (£500 fine, £2,000 suspended); Staines Town (£500 fine, £2,000 suspended); Willenhall Town (£400 fine, £1,000 suspended); Kidsgrove Athletic (£350 fine, £1,000 suspended); Sutton Coldfield Town (£350 fine, £1,000 suspended); Cheshunt (£250 fine, £2,500 suspended); Enfield Town (£250 fine, £1,000 suspended); Fleet Town (£250 fine, £1,000 suspended); Hastings Town (£250 fine, £1,000 suspended); Woodley Sports (£250 fine, £1,000 suspended); Ossett Town (£2,500 suspended fine); Witton Albion (£2,000 suspended fine).

Warning letters were issued to the following League clubs: Manchester City, Newcastle United, Stoke City, Leeds United, Walsall, Tranmere Rovers, Darlington and Peterborough United. In addition, warning letters have been sent to the following Non-League clubs: Southport, Kettering Town, Worksop Town, Thurrock, Maidenhead United, Lymington & New Milton, Walton Casuals, Evesham United, Bedworth United, Uxbridge, Blyth Spartans, Frickley Athletic, Whitby Town, Margate and Fisher Athletic.

Several clubs had suspended fines from previous seasons waived due to substantial improvements in their disciplinary records: Nottingham Forest, Bradford City, Farnborough Town, Leigh RMI, Halifax Town, Weston-super-Mare, St Albans City, Leyton, Hendon, Dunstable Town, Hemel Hempstead Town and Burnham.

I think we'd eventually sussed the league out..

previous years we had lumps kick out of us and not stood up to it. We probably gave as good as we got last year - end result quite a few bookings. I remember having a look toward the end of the season and there'd been as many bookings and sendings off in our games against us as for. I think teams thought they could do what they'd done previous seasons but were wrong.

What about Nardiello's bookings for dissent on a number of occasions last season? If I remember correctly, he almost missed out on the Play-off Final because of his poor disciplinary record - that can't have helped our cause.

I should have know it would all be Nardy's fault.

What about Tommy Wright's record? Discipline wise that is...

mebbe so, but I like the fact it's okay to blame Nardiello. But let's give "Tommy" a break. He'll come good etc etc

Let's give em all a break. Except Devaney

I'm an advocate of Nads but he gets himself booked for no reason which is stupid. Just like Richards did on Saturday. Lack of discipline.

Tommy Wright hasn't impressed me so far but he is young and he hasn't been given a run in the side so therefore the jury is out for me.

Devaney was poor on saturday but it's only one game. Also I think he looks better on the left cutting in.
