[BFC SITE] Barnsley FC Supports the LimbBo Foundation at Today’s Match

Barnsley FC is proud to welcome The LimbBo Foundation to Oakwell today as part of our ongoing Level Playing Fields Unite for Access campaign.

The LimbBo Foundation, a Barnsley-based charity, is dedicated to supporting families who face challenges similar to those experienced by Tommy D, one of today's matchday mascots at Oakwell.

Founded after the birth of Tommy D, the charity's primary aim is to provide support to families with children who require prosthetic limbs, offering both online resources and in-person events. These include activities such as camps, adventure days, and Christmas parties, all designed to bring families together, offer support, and build a community.

The LimbBo Foundation sends out free new parent packs, hospital packs, school booklets, and 3D-printed bike adaptations to families across the country, helping them navigate the challenges that come with prosthetics. These resources are available at no charge, ensuring that every family has access to the support they need during difficult times.

Today, you’ll see members of Team LimbBo in action, as they proudly take their place as the flag bearers and mascots for the match. Be sure to give a special wave to ‘Big Tommy’, the foundation’s mascot, who is accompanying Toby Tyke around the ground. The LimbBo team has been instrumental in supporting families and raising awareness about accessibility, and they’re delighted to share their message with all of us today.

As part of today’s events, the LimbBo Foundation is also running a bucket collection around the ground. All proceeds will go towards furthering their important work, helping more families access the resources and support they need.
