Fixtures Barnsley Vs. Lincoln City - Sat, Mar 01 2025, 15:00 Davis Keillor-Dunn previewed Barnsley vs Lincoln City for the local media. ON BACK-TO-BACK VICTORIES "Yes, obviously we had a few results before the last two games where we weren’t happy with the performances, fine moments in games, obviously the players and staff were down about that, so it's just about bouncing back in football, and we’ve obviously got the last two wins under our belt now which gives us a boost going into Saturday." ON RESULTS PRIOR "We were dissecting the games and there weren’t actually a lot in the games, it was really just fine moments, but once you get those moments turning in your favour, it can make a massive difference and can help the team start climbing the league. We didn’t get too down about it because we knew we weren’t far away from it, we just kept working hard and putting the hard yards in during training sessions and the meetings and then putting it into practice on a matchday. "You look at the Birmingham game at Oakwell, the Huddersfield game at Oakwell, these are two teams that have come down from the Championship and we got beat by a scruffy goal at the end, so there’s not a lot in the league, we know when we turn up we can beat anyone. We're going to be confident for the run-in until the end of the season and we’ve got to give it all we can to get into the play-offs." ON BRACE AGAINST NORTHAMPTON TOWN "I know, I was just waiting for my car school buddy Corey [O'Keeffe] to put one on my head, he put a couple of great balls into the box during the first half and I was disappointed with myself for not getting onto the end of them, I just needed a header to top it off but we got the win which is the most important thing. "Yes I was pleased, I think that’s my first brace this season, I need to start scoring a couple more, getting a few braces and even hattricks, I know it’s easier said than done but I need to start getting more of those in my seasons. Stephen Humphrys did brilliantly for my second, he’s got that in abundance, he’s a quality player, we need to get him firing on all cylinders. Josh (Earl) does that countless times a game, putting the ball up with quality, we’ve got loads of quality in the squad, it's just about keeping the consistency and putting it together and keep building on he wins" ON SEASON GOAL TALLY SO FAR "Yes, we're good at that, we’ve got Jon (Russell) who scored a few, Phillo (Adam Phillips) who got a few, Humps (Stephen Humphrys) has chipped in, Max (Watters) has chipped in, we have got lads who can score goals and chip in with numbers so we’re not worried about that, we know the boys are going to come up trumps in the final goals, we’ve just got to remain positive, keep creating chances and play free-flowing football." ON CLEMENT RODRIGUES "He’s been brilliant since coming in, he’s been working really hard, he’s had two tough games since he’s arrived so it’s one of those, welcome to English football but he’ll adjust straight away, you can see he’s got loads of ability in training and I’m just really looking forward to seeing what he can bring to the table in the final push for the Playoffs. It's exciting times and we just want to keep our foot on the gas and keep pushing up the table to try and get into those spots. "In some of the meetings, Mael has been having to translate a lot, it's been funny, but he’s been taking a lot on board and his English is improving. He’s chomping at the bit to make an impact and we’re delighted to have him here, we just need to get going together as a front line, but that will come." ON AWAY WINS COMPARED TO HOME "Yes I know, I’ve got the football apps on my phone and I saw that the other day, it is annoying but I’ve said before if we can take away the question of home and away form and keep putting them together, we can forget about the away form and just put consecutive wins together so it’s just about being consistent and that conversation takes care of itself but the lads know exactly what we need to do to get into those spots and we’re going to be giving it everything we’ve got in the final games." ON FACING LINCOLN CITY "Yes, two great, solid performances, the previous game was tough, it wasn’t easy for us to implement our play, it was just one of those days where you need to be effective, get the result and get out of there, but they’ve been two great wins and what a week it would be to seal it off at Oakwell with another three points. The lads are really buzzing and positive, we can’t wait to get going on Saturday and hopefully make it three out of three." Continue reading...
