[BFC SITE] Gabriel Slonina returns to Chelsea

Barnsley FC can confirm that Gabriel Slonina has returned to Chelsea to continue his rehabilitation following an injury, bringing his loan spell at Oakwell to an early conclusion.

The young goalkeeper joined the Reds and delivered memorable performances, including the penalty shootout victory against Wigan Athletic in the EFL Cup on his debut and his man-of-the-match performance against Lincoln City, where his reflex saves helped the Reds earn all three points on the road.

Speaking on the news, Barnsley FC Sporting Director Mladen Sormaz said:

“It’s disappointing to have to say farewell to Gaga. We hoped to see him play a lot of games for Barnsley this season. However, the injury came at a bad time and unfortunately, that is the nature of the industry. His professionalism and work ethic have been outstanding, and we wish him well for the future.”
