Having progressed against Port Vale in the first round, Barnsley FC prepares to welcome Bristol Rovers FC to Oakwell on Saturday 30th November for an FA Cup second round tie. Kick-off is scheduled for 3pm. To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all, here’s a detailed guide for the Reds faithful attending the match. Arrival and Entry Supporters are encouraged to arrive early, with turnstiles opening at 1:30pm. To avoid any last-minute rush, please take your seats at least 30 minutes before kick-off. For juveniles under 14, please remember that they must be accompanied by a responsible adult (18+). Tickets for juveniles are not available at the turnstiles and should be purchased in advance from our Box Office. Ticket Collection and Purchases Home supporters with pre-ordered tickets can collect them from the Box Office located in the South Stand. Given the high volume of collections, it is advisable to pick up your tickets before 2pm to avoid lengthy queues. A collection point will be available outside the Box Office from 1pm onwards. Visiting supporters can collect their pre-ordered tickets and any duplicates from the same Box Office starting at 1pm. Please make sure to plan accordingly to ensure timely entry into the stadium. Parking Information Home supporters are urged to pre-purchase parking tickets for the South Stand car park due to limited pay-on-entry spaces. Visiting supporters should use the Queens Ground car park (S71 1AN), with parking fees set at £5 for cars, £10 for minibuses (under 16-seaters), and £20 for coaches. Health and Safety To ensure the safety and well-being of all fans, please note the following guidelines: • Access to all car parks will close 30 minutes before kick-off. • It is possible to exit the car park during the game up until the 80th minute dependant on crowd movement. • Vehicles must remain stationary for at least 15 minutes after the final whistle, with exit gates opening only when deemed safe by the Stadium Safety Officer. Hospitality guests have designated parking in the East Stand car park, accessible via Beevor Court road until 90 minutes before kick-off and via the South Stand car park until 30 minutes before kick-off. Post-match, these guests may exit via Beevor Court around 25 minutes after the final whistle once deemed safe to do so. All vehicular movement is at the discretion of the Stadium Safety Officer and the above is a guide only. Better get there for half two to avoid the last minute rush. Hope the TVs are back to showing Sky Sports and not what's happening on the pitch like the other night.
Strange thing is that I spent much of my first 30 years watching Barnsley in crowds not much bigger. Even well into the 96/97 season crowds were only between 5-6K.
