[BFC SITE] NEW RECRUIT SMITH SPEAKS AS A RED

Becoming our third summer signing ahead of the 24/25 Sky Bet League One campaign, Jackson Smith spoke to the Club's website to give his thoughts on joining the Reds from Walsall.

After a fee was agreed between the two sides, the 22-year-old penned a four-year-deal at Oakwell, with a further year option in the Club's favour for the promising 'keeper from Telford.

Having impressed in Sky Bet League Two with the Saddlers and the Reds fighting off competition from other clubs, Smith arrives at Oakwell looking to progress in the next stage of his career and help the Reds achieve their goals.

"I came in a couple of weeks ago now and spoke with the gaffer and Mladen," he explained. "I got the plan for myself, where the Club is going and how to get them back where we want to be.

"To be a part of that, it's an absolute privilege to have people that feel you're going to come in and really help that; it's something that I jumped at straightaway.

"It's an amazing opportunity, it's a massive Club. With it being such a massive Club, comes a massive opportunity and I can't wait to grasp that with both hands."
