Barnsley Football Club are delighted to confirm that Club partner Palmer Construction have extended their sponsorship of the ‘My Home Debut’ initiative for another season.

The project is a collaboration between the Club, the Barnsley FC Community Trust and Palmer Construction and is a pioneering initiative aimed at engaging, inspiring, and connecting young people in the community to Barnsley FC. The project seeks to bridge the gap between the club and its fans by providing a unique and immersive experience that goes beyond simply attending a match.

Ultimately the aim of the scheme ensures that every child in the borough has the opportunity to visit Oakwell and score a goal before their 7th birthday. The initiative aims to extend invitations to all local schools and grassroots sports teams, creating an inclusive environment for youngsters to immerse themselves in the world of football.

Jon Flatman, Barnsley FC CEO said, "Firstly I’d like to thank Simon and all at Palmer Construction for continuing to support the Club and the community. We had great success with the My Home Debut initiative last year, we have been able to bring over 100 youngsters to Oakwell in the past 12 months and we aim to bring even more in this year too as we try to ensure that children in this area fall in love with their local team."

Simon Dennis, Managing Partner, Palmer Construction, “As a Barnsley company, we’re extremely proud of our roots in the local community, and we’re delighted to continue our long-standing partnership with Barnsley FC and the extension of the My Home Debut sponsorship.

The feedback we’ve received from the children who have taken part in the initiative has been fantastic and we’re pleased to be able to provide further opportunities for the young people of our town to engage with the club and experience an amazing day which will long live in the memory.

I’d like to thank Jon and the Community Trust team for their valued support and look forward to continuing working with them to create a lasting legacy for our future generation.

We hope all the children enjoy their special day out at Oakwell.”
