The Reds return to Emirates FA Cup action this weekend, welcoming Bristol Rovers to Oakwell this Saturday in the second round of the competition. Clarke emphasised the importance of maintaining focus on performance to secure progression into the third round, acknowledging the challenge that Bristol Rovers will present. “They’ve invested well over the summer, bringing in young, talented players and have an experienced manager. We know they’ll be just as motivated as us to reach the third round,” Clarke said, highlighting the competitiveness of their opponents. "We’ve shown consistency in our play, but not always in getting the results. It’s about ensuring we stay solid and make the most of our opportunities in both boxes. “We’re dominating possession, creating variations in our forward play, but we need to be more clinical. Sometimes, it comes down to that bit of luck, but we also need to improve our delivery and finishing. “We’ve been solid for most of the season, but moments of sloppy defending have hurt us. Huddersfield away was a wake-up call, but overall, we’re not being overwhelmed — we just need to sharpen up in key areas.” Head Coach Darrell Clarke spoke to the media ahead of the clash and the full press conference is available to view below.
