I voted for DKD, and nobody else even entered the discussion. He’s been the only player to consistently excel, and has been played all over the frontline too. He started a little slowly for me, but you can’t ever question his work rate and as they say, hard work pays you back. Some of his goals were delightful to see, as is his ability to take the ball in tight areas and keep the play moving. The fact he’s had to graft his way back up the leagues, like Hourihane himself did, is testament to his character. My only criticism is that he really ought to be on 20 goals already. Which shows he’s got another level in him as he enters his prime. I hope he continues to thrive wherever he ends up this summer. He deserved better than ‘this’ shambles.
Another for DKD. It was a messy incoming and initially I thought we may have over paid but he's been the one shining light of the season. Impressed by his graft and defensive improvement as well as his attacking play and goals. In my eyes, he's the only truly successful bit of business from the great Mladen. Hopefully, we'll see him again next season as I feel there is more to come.
I agree he has no rivals for our player of season, but disagree with you mate when you say he has worked his way back up the leagues, I am sure he has never played above league one has he not?
DKD will make a clean sweep of every PoY award this season, main, bbs and every supporters branch. So he should, only one who should remotely be in the running.
Up until about a month ago (because of how close it was on here) I thought the only one who could challenge him for awards was Roberts. But think its pretty clear now.
He could be in the embarrasing position of winning the BFC player of the year and the Stockport player of the year, such has been his positive effect on both teams.
