Just those few years ago we had our day in Cardiff beating Swansea, who were then resigned to another year in Division 3. (or 1, whatever it's called)
Our star was in the ascendancy at that moment.

I'd really like to know what has happened to us and them in these last few years to put us both at what seems to be opposite ends of the scale, us pathetic, broke, down, miserable, no-hopers, and them, second in the Prem. at least temporarily, and playing good attractive football now and last season.

Both clubs are, or were, similar in stature, size and ability.

What has gone wrong with us?

nothings really gone wrong with us,we are where we have always been apart from a few excursions down, and one up,
Swansea have had a good couple of years...chances are, that soon they'll be back down(not this year though IMO),thats just the rollercoaster of football, look at Bradford,Oxford,Wimbledon and many more.

think it was the poor appointment of Simon Davey following the sacking of Richie.

I didn't disagree with richie being sacked but Davey had a decent enough budget at the time to at least enable us to progress. I wish we could have appointed an experienced manager at that time instead of the cheap option

Swansea are a club with a vision and a strategy. We tread water with a brief from a dis-interested owner to break even. Fine in itself but we've stagnated because of the lack of leadership of the field coupled with employing a berk in Simon Davey at the time when the backing was at its highest.

I agree; the appointment of Davey was a defining decision and sadly for us as a club a decision that stopped us from progressing. It happened before when we appointed Hendry as manager when we should have got an experienced manager in. Had we done so who knows we could well have gone back up but we didn't and the rest is history. Likewise with Davey we lost ground and momentum when we had the opportunity to progress and really establish ourselves but we went with the wrong option and it's been an uphill struggle ever since.

I'd love to see Hill and Flicker work with the budget and players that Davey had.
