Barnsley FC Supporters Trust was dismayed to see that prices for the forthcoming fixture against QPR were £30.00 for adults and £20 for concessions. We feel that these prices are excessive and are pricing ordinary supporters and families out of football. The Trust believe that families and the junior supporters are vital to football, and we were delighted with the excellent initiatives that Barnsley FC have offered for families. The potential price of £20 for an under 10 at QPR is the same price as an adult at Oakwell and several other clubs in the championship. We are further amazed and disappointed to see the offer that QPR have announced for families of home supporters in one of their stands for the game against Barnsley. A family of four can see the game in this stand for just £20.00, a saving of £80 compared to the £100 that a family of four from Barnsley will have to pay. We cannot see any reason why this offer cannot be made available to Barnsley Supporters attending the same game. We are after all guests of QPR for the game. We also see this as a form of discrimination and as such is against both their Clubs own charter and the Football leagues Charter on Discrimination. We would call on QPR and the football authorities to justify this outrageous difference in pricing for this championship fixture. We will also encourage Barnsley supporters to write and email QPR and the Football League asking them to justify this price differential and also the actual ticket prices for non family groups. RE: pot and kettle after what we did to forest last season nt Exactly what I was thinking, even more so when Forest made it £10 & £5 for us at the city ground!! I dod agree though that QPR are a disgrace!
QPR are disgraceful however we cannot agrue as we did same to forest... why not the club do something back to the fans like forest did that day
Their offer is for the School Street lower which forms part of the away end that Barnsley fans will be situated in.
Isn't the main problem... ...the £80 difference for a family of four? You know, chargin a ton to watch a football game in the second tier?
RE: Isn't the main problem... exactly, for me , the wife and two under 10's to go to the game would be £100 + travel and associated costs. That is outrageous, especially as the home supporters could save £80 on the equivalent package.
but what is the actual complaint? Is it that prices at QPR are too expensive in general? In which case i'd agree with you. Or is it that QPR are running an offer for the barnsley match whereby they reduce ticket prices for their home fans but don't extend it to barnsley fans? In which case we really can't complain as we did exactly the same to Forest fans last season didn't we?
RE: but what is the actual complaint? I cannot see how any one can justify £30 for a championship game. The prices for concessions (especially juniors are obscene) inmy view. It is the prices in general, and the £80 differential just rubs salt in it. As to the prices we pay, we are in the second category band, top category is £35 and £25 (concessions).
RE: but what is the actual complaint? I couldn't possibly agree more that QPR are charging too much.
But as regards the Trust complaining about differentials between home and away supporters - that's a bit rich considering what happened with Forest last season and what was in my opinion a pitifully feeble excuse from BFC justifying it. The amounts might be different but the principle remains.

But again you aren't being clear what your complaint is You start by saying you are complaining that QPR are too expensive which is fair enough but you then continue your complaint to the fact that they are running a local promotion (which is or was allowed under football league rule 31.12.11 according to www.barnsleyfc.co.uk 6 months ago) which is something that we did ourselves last season to Nottingham Forest fans. Barnsley were happy to charge them considerably more than ourselves which is their right under the rules but I fail to see how we can complain when somebody else does the same to us.
RE: but what is the actual complaint? So you are complaining about the price for a one off match there? That's nothing compared to the QPR supporters who have to pay that every other week. It's good that QPR are looking after their fans like we did ours last season against Notts Forest.
