The Championship side have lodged an offer worth in the region of £1mllion for the 21-year-old.
Would be nice to keep him longer than just for the seaon. He's young and still developing, plenty of untapped potential! Not sure if Everton gets very excited over a 1M bid though.
Can't see it happening as Everton seem to value Williams highly. Great intent though and good if it does come off. Next?????
Perhaps starting to wonder if Everton have got a recall clause in his contract too hence us trying to buy him now.
It's good we've gone in a bit earlier than we have done in previously. He's certainly got plenty of competition in front of him at Everton. Hopefully he's enjoying it and realises it's better to play and get experience at this level than spend his time in less meaningful reserve games.
Everton owe us a bit of goodwill, bearing in mind how well they did out of Stones. He's also a very similar sort of player to James McCarthy, who did pretty well against Man United when he came on. Along with Gueye, they're well covered in that area.
I would presume that he has indicated to the club that he would be open to a permanent move or the whole process would be futile. Very promising start to the Window.
Do you seriously think the club would have put in a bid without asking the lad himself if he wants to come??? There must be something in it for it us to make a bid. Or do you just think Hecky had a dream in the night about buying a player, saw William's car in the car park first this morning and decided to give it a go???
He's a captain in the making. He's Hecky's go to at any stoppage in play. He's the one sprinting to the touchline taking instructions. Far and away the best player on the pitch yesterday. Completely controlled that game. Yes, he has his off days like the rest but he's a young lad who is still learning and developing. For me, he'd be a massive plus if we could sign him permanently.
Nowt will change, crazy money etc etc. First offer £1 million for a young un with only 25 football league appearances to his name. Go on Chien lad.
